Perfect bistro on Smith Street in Carroll Gardens. Think steak tartare with a fried quail egg, chicken a la russe, and aged duck with foie gras. On trend, the menu offers a large selection of natural wines

While the historic 19th century Frick Mansion undergoes renovation, highlights from the unparalleled art collection have taken up temporary residence a few blocks away on Madison Avenue, in the iconic modern building designed by the Bauhaus alumnus, Marcel Breuer. What may have seemed an incongruous pairing, classical and renaissance masterpieces hung on unadorned, brutalist walls, instead gives viewers a chance to appreciate the many familiar works with fresh context.

This tiny museum focuses on works on paper. If in Soho, make sure to visit! It closes Mondays and Tuesdays, but otherwise is free to the public and worth the visit.
