Perfect for a cold beer/refreshment and enjoying an incredible view of the ocean

A great place to grab a drink after perhaps a long trip getting here. The Cove House Inn is located right on the beachfront with stunning views and a great spot to watch the sunset. What's even better is it's only a 5-minute walk from my house. They also serve pub grub too and 'the specials' are definitely worth checking out. Every Thursday evening there is also a live folk band playing.

Quiddles is a quirky cafe right at the end of the beachfront. (again only a 5-minute walk from my house) They serve great breakfasts and offer mainly a seafood lunch menu. It is weather dependant as they only have seats outside and I strongly recommend booking.

Frontline Coffee is located just as you enter Portland. It's a great venue and has lots of yummy drinks such as milkshakes, coffees, teas and alcohol. They also serve a good breakfast along with paninis and sandwiches. There is also some very cool artwork on display from a local artist.

St Catherine's Chapel is located in Abbotsbury and definitely worth taking the 30-minute drive out. It's easily accessible and just a short walk from the car park at the bottom of the hill. The views are stunning up at the top and you can also enjoy a walk around inside.

Take a trip to the lighthouse and see the tides of the Atlantic ocean cross with the English channel. Regardless of the weather, it's definitely worth the visit.

If you want to visit a village that still feels like it's from 'Game Of Thrones' then take the hour drive to Wareham and visit Corfe Castle. It's a beautiful day out and walking around the castle is a great experience.

Tout Quarry Nature Reserve and Sculpture Park is an abandoned stone quarry which has now been turned into a stone sculpture park. Now one of Portland’s most popular attractions, you can discover over 60 hidden sculptures in the Quarry, such as Anthony Gormley’s ‘Still Falling’ sculpture and enjoy the stunning views over Chesil Beach and Portland Harbour. The park is also a haven for nature especially for those with a love of wild flowers and butterflies.

If it's seafood you're after then I highly recommend a dinner at The Crab House. Strongly advise booking and it's also on the more expensive side of dining out.
