House for an Art Lover was designed by the internationally renowned architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh and is situated in Bellahouston Park.
The exterior of the House for an Art Lover has been realised in materials and craftsmanship as closely as possible to Mackintosh’s 1901 designs.
Inside, Mackintosh designed the entire layout of rooms, while he and his wife provided detailed interior designs for the double-height Entrance Hall, Dining Room, Oval Room and Music Room. Together these rooms have been realised in great detail along with the Main Staircase and Gallery and are referred to as ‘The Mackintosh Suite’ which visitors can explore.
The house is also home to the popular Art Lovers Cafe, Gallery and Shop.

Chef Lorna McNee, protégé of the late two Michelin-starred chef Andrew Fairlie and Great British Menu’s “Champion of Champions” 2019, took up her first head chef role at Cail Bruich in August 2020.
She is the only current female chef in Scotland holding a Michelin star, achieving this in just over 5 months.
Lorna creates elegant plates of food that make the most of Scotland’s seasonally changing ingredients prepared with respect and a lightness of touch.

The History of Pollokshields
Pollokshields was created from the mid-19th century onwards by the Maxwell family of whom the best-known is Sir John Stirling Maxwell, a founder member of the National Trust for Scotland and of the Forestry Commission, and President of the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts.
The Maxwells made great efforts to ensure a first class residential district with strict planning controls of the position, quality and use of buildings. Villa development began in 1851 and spread southwards from the Paisley canal.
