NuVegan's food is amazing! From their Chik'n Drummies to their Garlicky Kale and for sure their Krabcake sandwich is to die for. Other favorites include their Lasagna and Mac n Cheese. Great ambiance, full of diversity and a spot where vegans and omnivores alike can enjoy food.

Great Sushi whether you're in the mood for the traditional sashimi or fusion roles. My favorite is the Godzirra. They also offer vegan options which is great!
The bar is small but the bartenders are really good. Very nice food and social scene.

Surfside is the ultimate go-to after late nights. Surfside is an anytime go-to but because this location is open 24 hours, it's truly a HOTSPOT if you're craving authentic tacos, quesadillas, and burritos! Their salads are also yummy.

Arts & Culture
The newest addition to the Smithsonian Family, this museum was a wonderfully cultivated and strategically planned. It is truly moving narrative. I recommend starting at the bottom, that is how it was planned. Some people tend to be discouraged by the lines but if you don't start at the bottom, you will miss out on a lot because this museum takes either a full day to go through, if you have the time, or several days. You'll feel an array of emotions but it will be worth it and very thought provoking at the end. Most of all, this museum illustrates a story African Americans have been unable to fully communicate to our fellow Americans.
Their restaurant is also a fun addition to the museum.

Aldi's is your go-to if you want organic choices on a budget. This Aldi's is clean, decent sized, and newly updated. I am recently impressed with their organic produce section.

Getting Around
From Union Station you can access Amtrak, MARC Train (goes to BWI Airport), All Buses (Megabus, Peter Pan, Greyhound, BOLT, etc), and Metro's Red Line Train which takes you to places like Chinatown, Metro Center, Dupont Circle and other transfer points.
Here you'll also find shopping and a lot of food/restaurant choices.

Sightseeing
One of my favorite Memorials, this is one of the most beautiful places in DC. It's very thought provoking as well, I believe the layout was very helpful in that if you know the meanings behind the memorials.

Simple Memorial but powerful and love coming from the Roosevelt Memorial to King's. Very nice to read Roosevelt's quotes and the peacefulness of his memorial and seamlessly transition to King's which is a powerful continuation in inspirational quotes.
