Heritage Park is located in the heart of downtown Belfast. A former industrial site, it became a park in 1987 with a supervisory arrangement with the Maine Coast Heritage Trust. In addition to picnic and daydreaming opportunities, this waterfront park is the site of special events such as Arts in the Park and Belfast Summer Nights concerts.
Belfast City Park is the city's oldest park, established in 1904. The park is a heavily used, with 17.5 acres. Park visitors enjoy a sweeping view of Penobscot Bay and is open from May to November.

You can golf beside the ocean at the Samoset Resort Golf Club in Rockport. From the Samoset, you can also walk along the Rockland Breakwater to the lighthouse. At the 66-acre Merryspring Nature Center in Camden and Rockport, you can enjoy walking, birdwatching or cross-country skiing.
