Calgary and the mountains

Sightseeing

There are a couple of other pedestrian bridge crossings from the north bank of the Bow River towards downtown, but of the three, this is the widest and the easiest to maintain social distancing. Pedestrians have, on their own, created one-way walking on each side of the centre track, which is where the bicycles can whiz past you harmlessly. And it's still a gorgeously photogenic bridge! I came across a sign on the south side, showing dimensions, etc. but also how high the flood waters came in 2013.

A great place for adults and children, from the architecture to the playground there is a lot to see. This is one of Calgary's "must-see" places. If you live in town, head downtown. If you're visiting, stop by! A real masterpiece that is a "people's place" as well.

Food scene

We sat on the outside window that opened up and the geese came right up to the window. The Ambiance was great. The food and Service was great too.

There are many options for food and drinks in the simmons buidling. Located in an old historical building in the East Village of downtown Calgary. It's an interesting place with Phil and Sebastian coffee roaster (often see them roasting beans), Sidewalk Citizen Cafe which is a great breakfast option or Charbar with cocktails and amazing food. Even has a rooftop patio for an afternoon drink and views of the river.

Ajito is Calgary's newest concealed dining spot that you will want to find your way inside of. To enter, you'll need to head to the back of Sho Sushi and then discover the secret door. If you can find your way inside, you'll discover the new Japanese izakaya-style restaurant. For those of you not familiar with izakayas, they are similar to pubs or tapas bars. It is a casual spot to hang out with your friends and enjoy alcoholic drinks and food. Dining here will make you feel like you've been transported to Japan. Chef Takeshi Kawabe was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan and will be serving authentic Japanese cuisine.
