The Beaver Valley is just south of the town which is popular for hiking and cycling and there is a rail trail that runs through the town and along the shoreline for miles.

Thornbury is a bustling village on Georgian Bay. The Thornbury Bakery is worth a visit alone but there are many great shops and eateries. One of my favourite shops is the upscale Loved You Madly consigment shop where you can find designer label clothing. and great furniture finds.
