Further afield (6 min drive from my place) but worth it. A special kind of breakfast you'll want to take a hundred photos of. You can't book but I would def try and get there for opening time so you don't have to queue too long.

Have a little more time to discover the area and want to really treat yourself? Book into one of the restaurants at Grantley Hall. Eighty Eight (pan asian), Fletchers, Shaun Rankin Michelin Star, Afternoon Tea, Norton Bar and The Orchard. A serious oasis of luxury hidden in Nidderdale. Dress up and expect a real treat. 20 minutes drive from Harrogate

If it's good coffee you're after. This is the best in Harrogate and just off Kings Road opposite the convention centre.

City/town information

I have lived a few places but Harrogate has got to be my favourite. Perfect balance between city and country. A town small enough its not super busy and loud and has lots of green spaces, and big enough it has plenty to offer; shops, cafes, restaurants, events, nightlife. I love it! It's great to be on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Dales too.

If you're here for a little longer you have to visit Knaresborough, our neighbouring town. You can drive, get the bus or take the train. You can even walk along the old disused railway line through Nidd Gorge too. The stunning river that anchors this little place offers beautiful walking, cafes selling ice cream, boating on the river during the summer and Mother Shiptons cave.

A sweet little village just North of Harrogate. It's like something from a movie set, super perfect. Lovely walking, the castle, local pub, teashop, Harrogate Tipple gin tasting if thats more your style and my favorite, Ripley Ice Cream.

Who doesn't love York? So much history, cute cobbled streets, cafes and good shopping. It's always worth visiting Betty's here too. Don't miss out on the Shambles either. 40 mins on the train from Harrogate
