Get a Clipper card!
If you're new to the Bay, you can get a clipper card at a kiosk inside any BART station or by downloading the clipper app. Clipper can pay for all public transit in the Bay Area; busses, trains, ferries, cable cars, you name it.

Bay Area weather is mild as a rule. Sometimes, however, the exceptions seem more common than the rule. Bring a couple jackets. An umbrella wouldn't hurt, but it wouldn't see much use, either.
