Tallulah Falls is a Victorian-era resort town in Georgia and the gateway to Tallulah Gorge State Park. Trails in the park skirt the rim of Tallulah Gorge or descend to its floor, where the Tallulah River flows. Waterfalls, including the dramatic Hurricane Falls, cascade into the river, which is spanned by a suspension bridge. If you want to hike to the floor of the canyon go to the State Park Center early. A limited number of passes are given out each day.

There are two popular legends as to how Tiger got its name. The first is that it was named after a Cherokee chief named Tiger Tail. The second (and more likely) story is that the name came from the cry of roaming panthers. The most prominent attractions in Tiger include the Tiger Drive In, Tiger Mountain Vineyards and Stone Creek Vineyards. Hillside Orchard Farm If you are in the Neighborhood, we would like to invite you to come spend a day at with us at the farm. Our retail store and farm is rapidly becoming a destination point for all.

Sightseeing

One of the most spectacular canyons in the eastern U.S., Tallulah Gorge is two miles long and nearly 1,000 feet deep. Visitors can hike rim trails to several overlooks, or they can obtain a permit to hike to the gorge floor. A suspension bridge sways 80 feet above the rocky bottom, providing spectacular views of the river and waterfalls. Geat beach for swimming.
