Fast food at its very finest. This beloved New Mexican hamburger chain is actually best-known for its breakfast burritos, which are served only in the mornings, but are big enough to last you most the day. We prefer ours "Christmas" style, with both red and green chile.

Set among 25 acres of lavender fields, enormous cottonwood trees and lush gardens, Los Poblanos is something to behold. Their restaurant is pricey but wonderful. If you go for dinner, you'll need a reservation.

All-night diner near the University of New Mexico campus. The food is ok (we recommend the cinnamon rolls), but it's the people watching that is unbeatable. If you can, snag a table in the John Wayne room, decorated in portraits of the Duke himself.

Are you afraid of heights? So are we, but the cable car trip up to the top of the Sandia Mountain range is an absolute must. The views on the way up are incredible. Once on top, there are gorgeous hikes and a decent restaurant.
