A lovely restaurant with a traditional feel without being stuffy. Great pizzas, pastas and other dishes, made with love and care. And the service is fabulous too. Whether you're on your own, or with one other, or with three or ten people, I'd recommend this place. It's solid.

They do Uber Eats.
We've only had Uber Eats from here, and their burgers were really great! The restaurant looks good, so I'd say, if you'd like a burger, this would be a very good place to go.

A great, relaxed bar where you can chill with a beer (or soft drink, whatever) looking out onto lively 7th St. It's very casual and friendly.
It's actually our go-to place, because the owners and staff are wonderful, and we love watching the world go by on 7th. We like the relaxed vibe. It's where we hang out. It's not a culinary high point, but the food is decent pub food. But we don't go there for any Michelin star food. We go because it's a great hangout which feels like a second home.

This, still underutilized, inventive space is very close to the action of 4th Ave and 7th St. You can eat, drink and shop here. Most importantly, it's home to an art gallery, called Denzil's & Jo, run by our friend Denzil.
They have some wonderful exhibitions of leading (no really, some seriously leading) South African artists. They don't expect you to buy, although the art is for sale of course. They appreciate people visiting, looking, and chatting about art and life. Denzil is a knowledgeable and lovely guy who is great to chat to.

Quite a few of our furnishings come from Decade. We love it. It's definitely the sort of place where you're not pressured to buy anything, but I've never been able to resist the temptation.

If you have a car, and need the kind of shops that a large shopping centre provides, Cresta is a good bet. It's about 10 mins by car and it has a lot of what you're looking for in a shopping centre. Checkers, Game, Woolworths, Incredible Connection, Builders Warehouse, Nike, Truworths, Ackermans. Mr Price, clothing, cell phone providers, all the retail banks... Just look it up. It's a mall. It's a go-to for stuff if you need stuff.

There is a wonderful second-hand book shop on 7th. There are a couple of charity shops, a vape place, and a clothing boutique. There are coffee shops, bars, restaurants and nightclubs, and there are two mini supermarkets and an ATM.
