We did this hike last summer with me carrying my baby boy in my Ergo and my husband carrying our toddler girl in the dueter backpack. We found this a perfect hike for a family. Beautiful waterfalls at the end to find a seat and eat a picnic!

If your goal is to reach one mountain peak while here, this is a good one to tackle. It's about 4 hours round trip for beginners. It's a steep incline with switchbacks. I'd recommend using hiking poles, bring some food/snacks and water. The views of Canmore and the whole Bow Valley is breathtaking. Arrive early as well, this hike can get VERY busy especially in summer.

If your goal is to reach one mountain peak while here, this is a good one to tackle. It's about 4 hours round trip for beginners. It's a steep incline with switchbacks. Stunning views of Banff, Mount Rundle, Fairmont Banff Springs golf course. A very popular short hike in Banff.
If you want to hike close to Dead Man's and that you can see from the balcony of the condo then we recommend trying Pigeon Mountain. This is considered a moderate hike at 17.4 Km and 1188 elevation gain. Bring a lunch, snacks and water for a good day hike with stunning views right in your backyard!

Experienced via Ferrata here for the first time. If you are looking for a true mountain adventure, and to fell like you are a mountain climber (without the risk) then give this a try. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend if you’re physically able.
