We always have to visit when on Maui, no matter how many times we have been here. There is something special about this place, I can't explain it. Maybe it is the stillness in the air, the views, the faint smell of lavender in the misty air, or maybe all of it combined. It is just special.

House of the Sun, Haleakala is another special place to visit. Some get up early for the sunrise, others wait for the sunset. We have always gone mid-morning after Komoda Bakery opens. I don't think it matters when you go. Haleakala is breathtaking in its own way. You feel like you are on top of the world when you are there. Bring a jacket, it is cold up there!
