Great beers and seltzer served with tacos and nachos to die for. Nachos are served properly with a flat and wide plate to maximize your cheese and toppings. Don't forget to pay for parking and the line to get in can be long. The togo growlers are a great deal.

Get the cheese fondue and the risotto! They are fantastic. The schnitzel is pretty darn good as well. Reservations are recommended for weekends as they are limited to out door dinning right now.

The biggest boat on the bay with a fantastic crew. They seem to have the best luck locating the largest amount of whales and with a 100ft long boat you are less likely to be feeding the fishes. I highly recommend getting the upper deck pass, it is worth the extra $20

Great views and a good place to stop on your big sur trip when it is open. The Rocky Point Bridge just beyond the restaurant is actually a better photo op than the more famous Bixby Bridge just down the high way. Can you find the spot where you can make it look like you are holding up the bridge?

Can you find the spot where you can make it look like you are holding up the bridge?

Beaches
The local beach that you can't miss, only a 5 minute walk from The Ocean View across Hwy 1.
Just head north from the front door, cross the hwy on the over pass and you are at one of the prettiest beaches on the coast and away from much of the Monterey crowd. Be sure to clean off the sand with the hose by the door before coming back inside.

This beach also known as Breakwater or Breakwater cove is probably one of the most scuba dived places on the planet. Almost everyone certified in Northern California has been certified here. There is always something new to see even if you have dived it hundreds of times.

Macabee Beach is another great dive site full of the pipes and anchors and other left overs of the cannery's and fisheries of yesteryear. The Kelp Room of The Ocean View is modeled after diving this site.

Great surfing and Sunsets, especially in the winter time when the sun goes too far south to see from the Airbnb. Good waves for moderate skill level, ask your host if you want to rent a board, a wetsuit or would like a surf lesson.

The Monterey Zoo while smaller than others has a great collection of very active animals. They have elephants, tigers, lions, bears and oh my! Good two hour trip, with lots of animals who will interact with you. Friendly staff and easy parking. Weekdays are best, hours are from 10am-3pm.

When this re-opens there is no better place to take your little ones. Good for ages 2-12 with lots of rides and fun. Great petting zoo as well.
