Part of the Cambridge University Union, this brasserie and bar has been redeveloped recently and is really good. Delicious food - but it does get busy, so best to book for evening meal - lovely drinks and atmosphere and a big garden. Tucked away behind the Round Church, most people wouldn't know it was there, but it's worth a visit.

Hidden in an unattractive, small industrial estate on the east of Bury St Edmunds, this bistro is brilliant. You would not know it could be so good by how it looks on the outside! Fantastic brunch (amazing pancakes, syrup and bacon), burgers etc. Buzzy atmosphere - recommend booking in advance.
