St John’s Co-Cathedral is a gem of Baroque art and architecture. It was built as the conventual church for the Knights of St John. The Grand Masters and several knights donated gifts of high artistic value and made enormous contributions to enrich it with only the best works of art. This church is till this very day an important shrine and a sacred place of worship. It is also a venue for cultural events.

Stunning views of the Grand Harbour.
It was built by the British in 1885, and was named after Queen Victoria. The gate is the main entrance into the city from the Grand Harbour area, which was once the busiest part of the city. Victoria Gate is the only surviving gate within the fortifications of Valletta, since all the other fortified gates were demolished between the 19th and 20th centuries. Today, the only other gate is the City Gate, which was built in 2014 to a modern design.

Enjoy a taste of nobility, both antique and modern, with a visit to this aristocratic museum and functioning residence. Casa Rocca Piccola remains the home of the noble Maltese de Piro family, and has hosted a notable lineage of noble tenants since its foundation in Valletta in the 16th century. Among the vast collection of rare and finely crafted furniture is a wooden chest believed to be the oldest extant example of Maltese furniture.
