We love Tamarack Brewing, located 45 minutes up the west side of Flathead Lake in Lakeside. Good beer selection, good food, and friendly people. This place could be located anywhere and succeed. A local gem.

Unique place with bison and expansive views to the Mission Mountains and surroundings. Its a self-guided driving tour, so its easy to just go do. 35 minute drive from Ronan.

The Mission Mountains are literally out the back door. Nearly the entire range is wilderness. Tribal Wilderness west of the divide (Mission Valley side) and USFS Wilderness on the east side (Swan Valley side). Several trailheads are located just east of Pablo-Ronan-St. Ignatius. Each puts you in the alpine lakes basins in about 6 miles. Tribal recreation permits are available from local vendors. See http://csktnrd.org/fwrc/recreation. The best map is the "Mission Range" by Cairn Cartographics.

Whitefish and Missoula also have nordic and downhill areas.
