Food scene

A great area of independent eateries, bars and shops only around a 15 minute walk from the apartment alternatively a 5 minute drive. The area has the excellent Box E in addition to Gambas, Root and Salt and Malt. Mokoko has cake to die for and Corks has some fantastic wine to wash it down along with some cheese from The Bristol Cheesemonger. There are also some very tempting shops selling household items to bikes and vintage clothing. This is an area I regularly socialise in and is next to the harbour so a great location for a walk after some overindulgence.

The Tobacco factory is a South Bristol institution. I would particularly recommend the Sunday market with runs from 10-2.30pm and has a variety of local traders.

Bursting with character and independents North Street is a hive of activity. North Street is also home to Upfest HQ, organisers of the biggest street art festival in Europe that takes place in July. Coffee shops to note would be Tin Can, Sweven and The Nordic Cafe and restaurants well worth a visit would be The Souk kitchen for mediterranean, The Malago for brunch or The North Street Standard for great pub food. The Old Book Shop and The Spotted Cow are great places to go for a drink too. Shopping on North Street is very varied including Hugos Greengrocers, Zero Green, Toyville, Zaras Chocolates, Southville Deli and homewares store Mon Pote - a personal favourite of mine! There is even an amazing yoga studio to work off all those treats.

Clifton is an area of Bristol that boasts Bristol zoo and has a great village feel. There are some great restaurants such as Fishers, The Giggaling Squid and Bosco pizzeria.

Highly recommend a visit to this iconic Bristol sight, perhaps even enjoy a cider overlooking the bridge in the White Lion pub.

Bristols major shopping centre, it is probably a 30 minute walk or an easy 15 minute drive with ample parking. The centre also boasts restaurants and a cinema in addition to shops like Harvey Nichols and Oliver Bonas.

Perfect for a stroll with ample places to get some food or drinks along the way. The whole way round the harbour is a flat 2 mile route.

The oldest working theatre in Europe is a treat for eyes but even if you don't get tickets the newly opened bar is well worth a visit for a glass of wine - trust me!

Built in the name of John Cabot the 100ft tower a top of brandon hill is well worth the climb to the top for the views. It is also close to park street with the University's Will Memorial Building and Bristol museum. Park street also numerous shops, cafes and bars along the famous hill.
