The Aegidienchurch certainly is worth taking some time to look at the building elements of which remained after heavy bombing taking place during the second world war. With lots of photo opportunities and a good position, as it is located minutes away from the New Town Hall, Historic Downtown, and steps from a public parking lot, on Osterstraße, it will be a place you will most likely pass on your way through Hannover. Take a minute and feel the place - it is worth it! Starting from our apartment, it takes about 15 Minutes to reach the Aegidienkirche.

The "Herrenhäuser Gärten" are definitely a MUST VISIT place in Hannover! What makes this attraction so incredible is there are FOUR different gardens with different themes, forming the famous Herrenhäuser Gärten constellation: 1. The Berggarten: Here you can find relaxation and wander through theme oriented oases including more than 11.000 different plants. It includes multiple plant-houses and even an indoor "Sealife-Aquarium" (witch has additional pricing to the entrance of the Berggarten). 2. The Georgengarten: Four 1.85 km long rows of lime trees, leading to the entrance of the Great Garden. The Georgengarten was designed in style of the architecture of british landscape gardens. Clean and with lots of open space for some outdoor sports like Rugby or Football. Also a great place to go for a run in the morning. 3. The Welfengarten: If you want to go out for a refreshing run, or look for a place to strive trough the beauty of barock-garden-design - search no further! The "Welfenschloss" is known by every hanoveran. Since 1879 the castle is giving the needed space for students of the Leibniz University of Hannover. The Welfengarten is surrounding the castle and connects to all three other gardens. 4. The Great Garden: It served as a summer retreat, located only a few kilometers outside the city, while the "Leineschloss" was the main residence in town. As its name implies, it indeed became a LARGE garden, comprising 50 hectares of lawns, hedges, walkways, and statues arranged in strict geometrical patterns. The garden is so well maintained and designed it will surely impress you. There is plenty of space for kids to play and run around, such as small labyrinths and beautiful oases. The museum attached has some great historic collection as well! Museums?! - Also a great topic for great places to find in Hannover. Check out the included section for museums in Hannover if you are interested! Have fun in the gardens! HOW TO GET THERE: Starting from our apartment, it takes about 20 Minutes to reach the Herrenhäuser Gärten by foot and about 10 Minutes by tram. Best tramline-connection goes from the station "Goetheplatz" where you take either of the tramlines directed into the city center (10 or 11). Leave the chosen tram 3 minutes later at "Steintor". Then enter the underground tramlines 4 or 5 directing outside the city centre. Leave the tram at "Leibniz Universität" or "Welfengarten".
