A must eat at Palm Springs restaurant. It's been around forever & with good reason. Not only is the food delicious, but the deserts are incredible. I love the San Jacinto chocolate cake, it's huge 2 people can share a piece of it.

The garden includes 3,000 examples of desert cacti and other desert plants, grouped by geographic regions.

The Moorten Botanical Garden and Cactarium is a 1-acre (4,000 m²) family-owned botanical garden specializing in cacti and other desert plants. The garden includes 3,000 examples of desert cacti and other desert plants, grouped by geographic regions.
It's great to know you can leave the desert without much effort & enjoy the mountain air & incredible views from 8,500 ft. above Palm Springs. The tram takes about 12 minutes to go up & down & are the world's largest rotating tram cars, so you have a great view no matter where in the tram you are standing. You will drive up Tram Way road for about 3.5 miles & go up about 2,600 ft. above sea level in that time. You will stop at a booth to pay $5.00 for parking, they will tell you what lot to park in. They have shuttles to the station from the parking lots or you can walk up from the parking lot to the station to get your tickets to go up. I advise you to go when they first open cause it's extremely busy during the tourist season & keep in mind it's about 30 degrees cooler up there too, so dress in layers. If it's cloudy up there then the views of the desert won't be good.
I'm writing this on 1-23-20 & I was told this past weekend that the restaurants up there were closed for remodeling (you can call to confirm) 888-515-8726 but the bar & gift shops are open. They have about 50 miles of hiking trails up there so wear you hiking shoes.

There are lots of hiking trails and there are usually streams running too. Also the most California Fan Palms can be found here, they are the only palm tree native to western North America. There's a per person entrance fee.
