This is a must go place. I would avoid Saturdays. You should consider that the service may be a bit slow.
You should definitely avoid the alternative of going to the taverna right next to Amoudia, called Agios Minas. You may end up leaving hungry due to extremely slow and insufficient service.

Only half an hour driving, 30km away, you can reach Chalcis or Chalkida, the city of the sacred fountain of Arethousa, which serves as the main gate to the island of Evia.
Chalkida is generally regarded as an ideal destination for a day trip during which a little tsipouro (potent spirit) and seafood can make for a relaxed and special day. The city offers numerous mezedopolia / tsipouradika serving fresh shells and seafood, cozy cafes with sea views, as well as bars.
The esplanade by the sea, is the appropriate starting point for your visit.
The old bridge, located at the narrowest point of the Euripus strait and one of the world’s last remaining “sliding” bridges, opens every night a little after 23:00 to allow vessels to pass through the strait.
The effects of an unusual sea tide are on full display here six to seven times a month, when the Euripus strait’s current changes direction, sometimes as many as 14 times during a single 24-hour period.

The archeological museum of Chalkida has plenty to offer from Paleolithic to the Late Roman period. The New Archaeological Museum of Chalkis "Arethousa" is also worth including it in your site seeing. The museum is housed at a renovated old distillery.
Chalkida is connected with Athens by train every 1 hour. From Athens terminal /Larissa station, you can take the metro connection (line 2) to get to Syntagma, Acropolis or Monastiraki stations or, change with line 1 and get to the Port of Piraeus to sail to the Aegean islands. Overall trip duration Chalkida-Syntagma is about 1:30-1:45 hours and Chalkida-Piraeus is about 2:00-2:15 hours.

Join them to hike along the ancient footpath of Delphi that takes you from the village to the mystical Corycean Cave though to be the site of pagan rituals since neolithic times.
On your way to Delphi, you will pass by the village of Arahova, a mountainous village that distinguishes for its traditional character. If you are a cheese lover, you should try the local "formaella" cheese. Arahova is also famous for its fine weavigns and textiles.
If you would like to explore a less touristic place, you should head to Agorgiani village. Also, at 20km from Arahova, there is the monastery of Osios Loukas which is one of the most important monuments of Middle Byzantine architecture and art, and has been listed on UNESCO's World Heritage Sites.
If the day is hot, you can stop on your way back at Livadeia and enjoy a refreshment under the canopy of the planes, by its famous springs.
