The eye-popping Shah Faisal Mosque, nestled at the foot of the Margalla Hills, is one of Asia's largest and reflects an eclectic blend of ultramodern and traditional architectural design styles. Topped by sloping roofs (a stark contrast to the traditional domes found on most mosques), the main prayer hall and courtyard is said to hold around 100,000 people. Most of its cost (pegged at about US$120 million today) was a gift from King Faisal of Saudi Arabia.

The Pakistan Monument has become a national monument and located on the Shakarparian Hills in Islamabad. The monument was constructed and inaugurated in the year 2007 during Gen. Musharaf regime. It symbolize the unity of the Pakistani people who sacrificed their "today" for a better "tomorrow". Its elevation makes the monument visible from across the Islamabad-Rawalpindi metropolitan area and is a popular tourist destination.
The monument is easily accessible from famous Islamabad highway and Kashmir highway near to zero point junction. There is separate Parking slot designated for visiting this area, the parking cost 30 Rs per car. Also there is an entrance ticket of 20 Rs. Per person for entering the monument area. I have visited this place several times, but during my last visit the area was too much crowded because of Eid vacations. Inside the area is vastly spread with all marble tiled flooring there is no plantation inside because of this it becomes too hot during day times. Better to visit this place in evening. Inside there is also famous Heritage museum with separate entrance tickets.

Currently, the museum houses a collection of over 300,000 objects.[1] The museum also acts as a research center and works closely with the Lok Virsa Museum. The museum is open to public everyday, except for Friday, from 10 am to 5 pm

The caves, known locally as Sadhu ka Bagh, are located next to the to the shrine and tomb of Shah Allah Ditta, a Mughal-era dervish, in the Margalla Hills—part of the Himalayan foothills—located just north of Islamabad. The caves contain 2,400-year-old Buddhist murals, as well as Buddhist relics dated to the 8th century. According to archaeologists, the caves, and the natural platform-like formations surrounding them, were used for meditation by Buddhist monks, Hindu sadhus, and Muslim ascetics (during the Mughal period)

If you want a nice time with family or your loved one, Rawal lake is the perfect place to visit. Although an artificial reservoir, the view is beautiful and you can even rent paddle boats or motor boats to explore the lake and nearby islands.
Other than boating and the view, the park next to the lake is perfect for picnics, bird watching and long walks with your loved ones.
The ideal time to go here would be an hour or so before sunset where you can enjoy a bit of the surrounding area and then be able to capture this!

Rawal Lake
If you want a nice time with family or your loved one, Rawal lake is the perfect place to visit. Although an artificial reservoir, the view is beautiful and you can even rent paddle boats or motor boats to explore the lake and nearby islands.
Other than boating and the view, the park next to the lake is perfect for picnics, bird watching and long walks with your loved ones.

The park has been constructed without disturbing the terrain of the site. Stones and wood have been used to make sitting places in the park. To maintain the natural beauty of the park, the CDA has planted saplings and grass
