Further up the Palmerston Highway there is Crawfords Lookout. A good lookout with a walking trail down to the escarpment where you get a good view of the river.
Don' t worry if it's raining , there is nothing better than walking in the rainforest in the rain. Just watch your footing in case it gets slippery.
If you have a four wheel drive you can do the Misty Mountain Drive, which is further on. On the left. It goes to a camping place on the river and if you continue on you can come out near Wangan, and back home on the paved road.
If the left turn to Misty Mountains is not taken, you can visit the Henrietta Creek National Park . There is a weir there and good for bird watching.

So it is worth returning for a night visit, which is very interesting.
