In the Mirage, my favorite weekend brunch buffet. Huge venue with every kind of food lining all the walls. Omelette/waffle station, seafood, benedict, bottomless mimosas :-) Not cheap but a real treat

This authentic-feeling Japanese ramen shop is a great noodles-only spot any time, but particularly on colder days. Only 30 or so seats, there's usually a wait around dinner time. Inexpensive.

Hands down my favorite Mexican joint in town. This place is delicious, cozy and beautiful. Standards such as tacos and burritos, also great seafood options. Not expensive.

My personal favorite Thai restaurant, this place is nicely decorated, friendly staff, and delicious food. I'd be remiss not to mention Lotus of Siam, which everyone loves, but I like this place.

Great for healthy groceries and for a meal from the deli/food bar (cheaper on Wednesday!). A longish walk from my place, not bad though if the weather is nice. Not inexpensive.

I've highlighted the Griffin, but this whole short street of bars is a great alternative to nightlife on the strip. Well designed, one-off bars and lounges with cheaper than strip-priced drinks.

Arts & Culture
Newest in town, Cosmo is stylish and beautiful. Even if you don't like gaming, it's great to walk through; every area of the building has something to look at. Great walking tour: Aria-Cosmo-Bellagio.

The best of downtown, highlight of this property is the pool- cabanas, loungers, but most importantly, a shark tank IN THE POOL! With a SLIDE THROUGH IT! May need to talk nice to the doorman to enter.

All the Cirque shows are excellent, but this is my favorite. Tickets are expensive- check tickets for tonight booths around town- but it is a real treat.

Sightseeing
The dam is a genuine wonder and has a great tour, and the bypass bridge, completed in 2009, is an absolutely beautiful structure in its own right. Both can be seen in a few hours.

This stunning area of natural beauty is a 40 minute drive from my place. Drive the 13 mile loop, plenty of hikes for all abilities, absolutely beautiful. Great escape from typical Vegas attractions.
