Must sees

These are our must sees in Albany and the local area
Great place to swim, sheltered no surf, lanes for lap swimming, good family picnic spot. The popular cafe sells tasty meals and good ice cream. There is a good bike track which starts from here and goes along Middleton Beach and into the centre of town.

Popular local reasonably protected beach with beautiful outlook over Royal Princess Harbour. Good walking beach as the sand is quite firm, lots of shells and bike track runs along behind it. There is a lovely boardwalk up around the headland which takes you back into town.

Very moving memorial and museum dedicated to the history of the Anzacs. It's quite different from the usual museum, you can take a card with the name of a soldier and follow their enlistment through the War. There is also a great view over Royal Princess Harbour from the museum and also from the top of Mount Clarence. The drive and walk up to Mount Clarence is free, the museum has a charge.
