There are probably hundreds of restaurants & bars in Cape Coral and nearby Matlacha. Plus hundreds more in nearby Fort Myers. Here is a list of our favorites based on type of location. All restaurants located in the Cape unless otherwise notes. Google for details. If you can’t find what you want in Cape Coral, you can head across the river to Fort Myers and have another 100 or so to choose from.

Tommy Edison and Henry Ford were very good friends and they built winter homes right next to each other. Stroll the grounds and gardens and visit the museum. We had our daughter's wedding here.

Every Friday evening showcases special events including Art Walk, Bike Night, Music Night. The streets are closed to traffic so you can stroll from shop to shop. Plenty of eateries and bars to choose from.
Cape Coral Yacht Club is great all-in-one destination that is open to all. You can sun on the beach; grab some lunch or dinner at the Boat House Tiki Bar; fish for free from the pier.

Located in Venice, FL this beach is about 55 minutes away. It is a great place for finding fossilized shark’s teeth. We have equipment here for you for shark’s teeth hunting. Ask us to see some of the sharks teeth we've collected.

Take a day trip Cayo Costa State Park, an untouched barrier island with plenty to see and do for nature lovers. Or take a trip to Cabbage Key for a lunch cruise. You can get there on one of several ferries. $35.00 adults, $25.00 children. Distance to the ferry on nearby Pine Island is 18 miles.

This is where Louise and I go with our own kayaks. It's a great area for seeing dolphins, ospreys, eagles and other wildlife.
Rent kayaks and see manatees. Really fun to see these huge creatures up close. 17 Miles and about 30 minutes.

This is such a lovely place to go if you are into gardens and/or bonsai. Wigert's is like an outdoor bonsai museum with some of the most beautiful and unusual fauna that you will ever see.

I love going to this pier for fishing. It is located about 30 minutes away at the end of Pine Island. They rent fishing equipment and you don't need a license to fish there.
