Parks & Nature
There are numerous parks to visit near Deception Pass. Our favorite is north of Deception Pass, Rosario and Bowman's Bay. There is an easy hiking trail between them. Washington Discovery Pass required or $10 day pass.

There are hiking trails at the park, but we usually drive to the top for stunning views over Puget Sound and the Skagit Valley.

Then a walk down the gravel road and between two bodies of water leads to an island with a gravel road, a level path on the south side, and a scenic hiking trail on the north side. They both lead to a wonderful beach. There is a large level field for playing of picnics. Washington Discovery Pass required or $10 day pass.

A visit to LaConner isn't complete with walking along the boardwalk bordering the Swinomish Channel. Watch the boats go by and greet all the dogs and their owners. A favorite shop is the Wood Merchant which is more like a woodcraft museum. Another favorite for jewelry and scarves is the Caravan Gallery. Merchandise is from all over the world.
