Sightseeing

Hallgrimskirkja, the Church of Hallgrimur, is a national monument, dedicated to the most renowned religious poet of Iceland, Hallgrímur Pétursson. You can go to the top and have a fantastic view over Reykjavik! The tower is open from 9:00 to 16:45 and it costs 900 kr. to go up there.

In the zoo part of the park you can find Icelandic domestic animals including farm animals, reindeers, harbor seals and arctic foxes. They also have a small exhibition of foreign reptiles. Their coffee house is open all year round. It's the perfect place to take a break and have some coffee and cake. During the summer months their kiosk in the family park is open with a selection of beverages and soft ice.
