Slippbarinn is effectively the birthplace of the Reykjavik cocktail culture. Established in 2012 within the Icelandair Hotel Reykjavík Marina, it was the first bar in the city to focus on fresh, high-quality cocktails. Located on the beautiful Reykjavik Old Harbour, it's the perfect place to while away an afternoon over a whiskey sour and expertly prepared calamari. Be prepared to taste a cocktail you will never forget. Slippbarinn is about unforgettable moments.

Apart from it being a beautiful place to walk with stunning views across the bay to Mount Esja, the Old Harbour area is where the majority of marine activities, such as whale watching and puffin tours are concentrated; it's also home to the excellent Víkin Maritime Museum. The numerous new businesses being established, offering everything from scooter rides to the city's best dark-roasted coffee, are a testament to the wonderful community spirit responsible for generating the success of the Old Harbour and re-establishing it as a new vibrant quarter of Reykjavík City.

"Being one of Reykjavík's oldest joints, Prikið feels somewhere between diner and saloon: great if you’re up for greasy eats (mains kr2000 to kr3500) and socialising. Things get hip-hop dance-y in the wee hours, and if you survive the night, it’s popular for its next-day ‘hangover killer’ breakfast (kr2590)"
