GREAT food and atmosphere, you'll probably see them bringing in the oysters and you'll be able to learn about oyster farming. Not the typical touristy seafood restaurant where the seafood isn't good. This seafood is great so it's worth the 40 min drive. Stop in Kilmarnock first for shopping eating or vinyarding at the Good Luck Vineyards, then Irvington for all that town has to offer then hit Merroir.

Irvington is not too far from Merroir Restaurant in Topping VA for excellent Oysters and Seafood and a great atmosphere. Also not far from Belle Isle State Park and part of the Northern Neck Loop which features a wide diversity of waterfront and forested sites.
