Don't go to any other Chinese in Edinburgh, this is the best. About 15 minutes' walk from the apartment. I recommend getting a carryout delivered. You won't regret it.

In my opinion the best pizzas in Edinburgh. About 5 minutes in a taxi from the apartment. Great thin based pizzas as well as a full menu of other delights. Or get a takeaway or they can deliver.

If you want something really special, book Afternoon Tea here. It costs £30 per person which is quite steep but it is delicious and the surroundings are extremely impressive. They also do lunches. The Signet Library is in the heart of Edinburgh, just off the High Street, next to St. Giles Cathedral. About 15 minutes' walk from the apartment.

You'll love this cinema - small screens but lovely comfy sofas to sit on and in cinema 1, the seats even recline! Worth a visit if you fancy a film.

Another local mini supermarket. Go out the apartment, turn left and left again onto Northumberland Street. Walk to end of street and turn left. Tesco is a few steps down the road. I think it has a better selection than Sainsburys opposite.

Beautifully restored Victorian 'baths' have a modern twist from the swimming pool with sauna and steam room to gym with hi-spec equipment and free weights.
