Toast has great breakfast and is only a 2 minute walk away. I particularly recommend the crabby Benedict, but I've never gone wrong on their menu.

Red Door has some amazing food, which is only accentuated by their amazing drinks. This is one of the few places I've been to that I feel does everything well without breaking the bank.

I've yet to meet anyone that doesn't like the Map Room. They have a large beer list that's always changing, and they also operate as a coffee shop during the day.

My Pi / Lil Guys offers some quick and cheap take out. Their deep dish pizzas offer a convenient taste of true Chicago-style deep dish, and the menu is rounded out with sandwiches, smoothies, $ salad.

For those headed east or west, the Armitage bus will take you.
While it is a bit of a walk, Strack & Van Til is a full service grocery store that should have everything but the most specialty foods.
