If you're into contemporary art, there is a famous Banksy piece on the corner here with 3 more around the city and another within walking distance. This is my favorite and is protected by plexiglass.

Really cool karaoke bar that also has good food and a cool vibe and staff. 24/7, this bar is part of the St. Claude strip next to Always Lounge, Siberia, and Hi-Ho Lounge. All worth checking out.

Park at the end of the street, go up the stairs, take a right through the fence onto the levee before you get to the bridge, and walk all the way down until you get to the end of the world...

Crescent Park! It only took the city YEARS to open it after they finished building it. Really cool park, great view of the city at dusk, brand new. Next to Country Club, Pizza Delicious, etc...

Laid back bar/vietnamese restaurant. One of my favorite spots in the city. Cool employees, they have movie nights, every time I go it seems like they're playing 90's hip-hop or shoegaze. Recommended.

The fly is the perfect spot for a picnic with or without a few adult beverages. It's right next to Audubon park and the zoo and you can watch the giant freighters go by on the Mississippi river.

Food Scene

Want seafood or soul food? This is it. Place is super divey and awesome but don't be in a hurry for your food and don't expect good service... part of the experience and absolutely worth it.

If you're a coffee/espresso snob (I am), this is one of the very few places in the city to get good coffee. It's also right in the middle of the french quarter by Jackson Square which.

Drinks & Nightlife

I highly recommend going check out Mimi's and the Franklin strip in general. Mimi's is 2 stories and is hands down the best food (tapas) in the city after midnight.

This is my favorite place on Frenchmen. Very laid back Japanese restaurant/bar, this is what Frenchmen used to be like. Food is very good as well. They don't serve sushi so don't ask. ;) Hot sake!
