The grilled chicken is my favorite here! Hookah is available as well right at your patio table next to your food.

Drinks & Nightlife

La Marina is a nightclub (at night) but during the daytime is a great place to hang out. There is sand on the ground and boats dock there so no need for heels. The dress code is light but definitely no sleeveless shirts allowed for men. You can hookah with friends right by the Hudson, watch the sun set, and order drinks. There is a restaurant there as well but I do not recommend the food. For food I HIGHLY recommend Mamajuana Café which is also a super fun nightclub with hookah at night.

This is the rooftop club of the Standard hotel where Solange beat up Jay-Z. It is open from very early on and usually packed in the summer and most especially on weekends. There tend to be long lines but it moves fast. There is a Jacuzzi in the middle of the dance floor and the view is to die for! You can get amazing crepes made right in front of you on the roof until 3am. There are unisex bathrooms and things tend to get steamy there! The drinks start at $13, beers at $8.

bOb bar is a hip hop bar on Sundays. The DJ is also from Chicago and plays great music and the bartender is a super laid back knowledgeable man.

Lower East Side has the most bars per capita in the whole United States and is the most cheap, laid back, tourist friendly, wallet friendly, fun area to go out! Great for all ages and there are no harsh dress codes or covers at most places.

Sightseeing

The High Line is my absolute favorite thing in the whole city. It is a raised railroad track that runs from 14th street all the way to 34th street. It runs along the west side showcasing heart stopping views of the Hudson. All along the path you will be overwhelmed with beauty, elegance, decadence, music, art, and love. There is food, art, crafts, and live music all along the path.

Parks & Nature

This is a beautiful and peaceful garden with benches, butterflies, and bees everywhere. Very quiet and on the northern end of Central Park on the East Side. Never packed and quite the secret garden.

This park is just a short walk from my apartment and is absolutely great for everybody of every age. There is a pool which is $2 a day or $30 for the month. There is also a running track, basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer fields, football fields, playground, a roller rink, and classes you can take inside the building. There are tons of great running trails and even an area for barbecuing.

Arts & Culture

El Museo Del Barrio is located in East Harlem and is full of a lot of unknown Latino history and is a gem to New York City due to the high population of people of Spanish speaking countries.
