Places to drink

The best whisky bar in the world (personal opinion) and right in the city centre. The staff are all friendly, even if you don’t like whimsy they’ll find something you should try.

The red bus tour

If you’ve never been to glasgow before, the red bus tour is a brilliant way to see the city in a day, learn about its history, whilst jumping on and off at your chosen sights.

The underground

Shields Rd underground is only a few minutes walk from my flat so it’s perfect for getting you to shopping hub in the centre via Buchanan street or the St Enoch Centre, or you can get over to the West End and visit Kelvingrove galleries via Kelvinhall station, or go drinking down Ashton Lane via Hillhead station.

Sightseeing in Glasgow

If you are in Glasgow to do some sightseeing, there is loads to see and do, and if you are short of time, the best way to get around the highlights is to spend a day on the red sightseeing bus. Stops I'd recommend getting off at: - George Square (to take in the architecture and enjoy the city centre) - Glasgow Cathedral (which is next to the Necropolis) - Glasgow Green & The peoples palace - St Enoch Centre (shopping) - the Clydeside Distillery - Riverside Museum - University of Glasgow - Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum - Glasgow School of Art
