Sightseeing
If you want to actually be on the water, renting kayaks or taking a tour through Portland Paddle is one of the best ways to experience the coast. I've taken a couple classes through here and the staff is wonderful. It just feels like summertime every time I go here.

They put benches at the top of the hill overlooking the city. It's a really small and kind of unassuming park tucked into this little neighborhood and it has one of the best views you'll find. Go! bring your holy donuts at dawn at watch the forking sun rise!

My City Picks
I love stopping in for coffee here. It's right down the street (hill, lol) from the apartment. The staff is super friendly, and in nice weather they open up the walls so it feels like you're outside. There is a good amount of seating it fills up quickly in the mornings. It's a great place to get the local paper or buy gifts for friends or just get a really high quality cup of coffee.

This is another coffee shop with incredibly high quality brews AND fully homemade baked goods and sandwiches. Like the sandwiches will tip you over they're so good. All of their ingredients are hyper-local, too, so you know you're getting the best.

This is my favorite place to get Tacos in Portland. And their Margaritas are screaming good. And their bartenders are flirty and cute....have fun!

Free on Fridays!! But the city appreciates when you support the arts and pay for a pass or donate lol. I don't have that kind of money yet. I think we take a lot of pride in PMA - come here if you need a break or want to cool off and look at some nice art.

I'm sending you to the park avenue location bc I think if you wake up @ 5am you'll be able to find parking and you won't be disappointed. Seriously, go at dawn. The donuts will be fresh as .... and you won't have competition getting through the door.

I remember asking my parents to go here all the time, bc they'd let little kids play with some of the extra bread dough, they have great turkey sandwiches, and these chocolate chip cookies that are ********omg and whoopie pies also...and it's attached to the Artists and Craftsman's Store so if you like crafty/artsy things it's a great place to go browse.
