Extra mural Cemetery
A really beautiful and tranquil place for a calming stroll. Lots of interesting gravestones, trees and flowers - especially lovely in springtime.

Really lovely, huge park on the outskirts of Brighton. The tiny hamlet of Stanmer village is in the middle, with pretty houses that used to be occupied by the estate workers - Stanmer House is now a cafe/ conference space with gardens to sit in and enjoy a lunch in the summer. Onegarden is here, a newly landscaped and developed restaurant, shop and gardens too. Home to Stanmer studios where local craftspeople and makers ply their trades. There’s paid parking.

Neighbourhoods

Very friendly, strong community and historic. Permit parking but meters available for visitors. It’s a bit hilly - like a lot of Brighton - but keeps you fit! Reasonably well lit at night.

Further up the coast out of Brighton, this is a lovely beach, pebbly with rocks to climb and rock pools. Uncommercial with some quirky shops and a picturesque high street. Home of Rudyard Kipling at The Grange, overlooking the village pond.

Food scene

Quirky little bar in the heart of the North Laine serving beers and lagers from local small breweries. Also local wines . Very friendly staff who encourage you to try before you buy. Also serving small plate tapas. The designs on the beer and lager cans are worth seeing too!
