Bruny Island is a great day trip. It’s about a 40 minute drive from Bramley Hollow to the ferry in Kettering which runs at 20 minute intervals for the short crossing - there can be a bit of a wait in the Summer but there is a cafe and information centre on the Kettering side if you have to wait. On Bruny, visit Get Shucked for Oysters, Bruny Island Cheese and a stop at The Neck is a must for a photo. We love Cloudy Bay and think that’s worth a look too.

Cockle Creek is approximately a 1 hour and 45 minute drive from Bramley Hollow and the last bit is a dirt road but we think it’s worth the drive - it’s the farthest south you can drive in Tasmania (and Australia) by road and there are some beautiful beaches and interesting history. There are no shops or services so go prepared.
