A lovely 30 min drive, first through Bucksport, then down US-1. The lighthouse is situated in a state park and dates to the mid-1800s. Follow a side trail through the woods down to a small rocky beach for a great view closer to the water.

This is a bit of a drive, but worth it to see the Eastern most lighthouse in the country. Plus the walking trail around the park offers gorgeous cliff views. Also, you can eat a reasonably priced lobster meal at the nearby Fisherman’s Ward restaurant.
