Neighborhoods

Bedford-Stuyvesant ("Bed-Stuy") is a populous area of Brooklyn that is steeped in history. Bed-Stuy has the largest collection of preserved turn of the century townhomes in the U.S. The architecture is stunning, as most of the these townhomes were built in the late 1800s to early 1900s. Each are unique and a walk down any one of the blocks is like taking a walk through history. Bed-Stuy is a vibrant, active neighborhood, with many families having lived here for generations. Bed-Stuy is a cultural melting pot, attracting new immigrants, as reflected by the wide variety of cuisine available. Increasingly, younger people and particularly people from Manhattan are also moving in, attracted by the relative affordability of Bed-Stuy, the cultural scene and seeking yard space. It is conveniently located on the A/C, J/Z lines, giving it easy access to Manhattan and other parts of Brooklyn.

Samgöngur

Subways are the fastest and cheapest way to get around.

You are a 10-14 mn walk to the A/C (Utica Ave & Fulton), C (Ralph Ave & Fulton), J/Z (Gates Ave & Broadway). The A and Z trains run express. The bus stop for the B62 bus is at the end of the block (Halsey & Ralph Ave), which will take you to downtown Brooklyn. If you plan on riding a lot, buy a 7-day unlimited metro card from any machine in the subway station. You can also pay as you go from your phone - just hold your phone up to the reader at the subway turnstile or on the bus.
