The Visitor Center at Monocacy Battlefields is excellent! Their museum is very well done and provides a great afternoon out. There are also lovely strolling paths on the property.

The C&O canal trail is great for biking, jogging and strolling with the dog. The trail runs from Cumberland MD to Washington DC (185 miles); and is the beginning of US bicycle Rt50 which runs all the way to Ohio! The closest starting point to our house is at Point of Rocks where you can head toward Georgetown DC or Brunswick MD.
