A 'must' for people with families as there are many activities to enjoy apart from trails to follow and exhibitions to see. A whole day experience, but can be difficult to park there.

This is the northern end of the Lakes and cruises can begin and finish here. Then there is Ambleside to explore, but it is quite a walk in from there. En-route there is Hayes Garden Centre and restaurant.

Duddon Bridge is at the bottom of the Duddon Valley - one of the best well-kept secrets in the Lakes. A beautiful valley to drive up with a pub at Seathwaite. Beyond is Cockley Beck where the road divides to either go over Hardknot Pass into Eskdale or over Wrynose Pass into Little Langdale. Both are valleys with their own attractions.
