Spectacular views to the west with brass pointers to help identify the numerous peaks from Yosemite to the north to Ritter and Banner, the Minarets. Accessible by vehicle in the summer without entering the Devil's Postpile Natl Monument. Nice jeep/hiking trail towards Two Teats Peak to the north.

Red Mountain, above the town of Mammoth, still boasts some gold mines. The Consolidated Mine Interpretive Site is a nice walk through history. Many of the old mining cabins still stand. Across the parking lot from two excellent trail heads; Duck Pass and Emerald Lake. Only accessible by car during the warmer months
