Sightseeing

The National Trust's first formal garden restoration, it's a beautiful garden dating from 1696 and the only complete Dutch Water Garden left in the UK. Great for picnics and children love feeding the fish. Relax and enjoy all the wildlife you will see there and the stunning topiary, kept in order by a small team of highly talented gardeners and volunteers. It's small and if you are not a National Trust member it will cost £8.50 entry. Westbury is open from 11 am to 5 pm Wednesday to Sunday from March to October and has a little visitor hut that sells teas, coffees, cold drinks and biscuits from very friendly staff ;)).

Food scene

It's a fantastic Indian restaurant and Andy the owner brews his own highly rated beer. Friendly and reasonably priced. Food is superb (haven't tried the beer). If you want to eat there currently it is outside only, so may be worth booking one of the 'stables' as it's very popular and often full. Open from Tuesday to Sunday until 9.30 pm...
