Food scene

This is our nearest pub, and they serve a decent variety of good food, real ales, and have a charming garden with a stream. A lovely spot to wet your whistle on the way back from the hills.

Sightseeing

Carnedd Llewelyn is one of our favourite nearby peaks to visit, and is usually pretty quiet compared to some of the better known peaks. It can be approached from either the south or the east - we usually park near Lynn Eigiau, above Dolgarrog, and walk from there.

This truly ancient church stands in isolation high in the mountains, and is well worth a visit. There are also several walking routes with stunning sea views that start from here.

Llyn Dulyn is a deep natural lake nestled in an even deeper cwm, plunging vertically hundreds of meters to the lake surface, and continuing well below. The lake has been the site of numerous air accidents. The eagle-eyed might spot bits of war-era wreckage on the cliff, and occasionally jutting from the water. This dramatic spot is a nice stop on any walk.

Surf Snowdonia is the UK’s only artificial surf park, and even if you don’t surf, is quite the thing to go and watch. There is a restaurant and cafe on site, and activities can be pre-booked via their website.
