Don't go for the food (it's terrible) - go for the groovy retro decor, live music, vinyl, and open mic nights. This is a fun hangout where artists and interesting characters like to be themselves.

This is the best place to find 'interesting' wines - they do regular merlots and cabernets, but they also have a whole line of rich fruit wine such as cherry & blackberry (my favourite!).

This is where you get the best merlot in the valley (in my humble opinion!). It's also got a modern tasting room and a beautiful view of the lake.

It's the most amazing German food! Generous helpings, great beer, and a fantastic patio make this a worthwhile trip. The building itself is amazing and worth a walk-through, it's a big carved-beamed fairy tale inn designed by the brothers Grimm.

This is a nice easy walking/cycling trail. It used to be the old KVR steam railway line connecting Penticton to Chute Lake and Kelowna, but now it's a mostly-flat, max 2.2% grade trail with spectacular views and a train tunnel through the rock. One of our favourite walks - round trip is about 8.5 km from parking lot to the tunnel and back.

One of our favourite walks - round trip is about 8.5 km from parking lot to the tunnel and back.
