Take a guided horseback riding tour on our 300+ acres of private mountain trails lead by an experienced guide. After signing up and meeting the horses, we will show you the skills you need to ride through our trails. You will be accompanied by an experienced trail guide the entire time. This is a beginner friendly ride, most of the ride is walking, we go at the pace of the least experienced rider in the group. If you would like to do some more trotting, don't want to ride in a group, or are experienced, we recommend booking a private ride. The ride itself is 1 hour long and is done in a western saddle. The minimum age is 7 years to ride. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or requests before booking!

Traditional art classes can be intimidating. This laid-back atmosphere is perfect for anyone looking to try out their painting skills. Plus, everything is better with GOATS! A brief introduction of the residents and tour of the sanctuary is followed by setting up materials and getting creative. With an approach of “art as therapy”, we can be as instructive or inspiring as each guest needs. We provide the professional art materials, easels, smocks complimentary beverages and the super cute, affectionate goats! You can either bring your masterpiece home or donate it to the sanctuary to help them raise funds. Please note: * This activity is bested suited for participants over the age of 13. *This activity is rain or shine, with the exception of local weather advisories. * While you might be able to get an Uber/Lyft/cab to our location, it is VERY difficult to find the same service for a return trip. We are a nonprofit animal sanctuary and rescue located on a beautiful and serene 60 acre horse farm in Kerhonkson. On the tour you get the opportunity to meet our horses, pigs, goats, and maybe even a dog or a cat, along the way learning each of their individual stories. We provide hands-on interaction with all the animals, giving you an up close and personal introduction to the world of animal welfare and rescue. Put on your Indiana Jones cap and explore a lost civilisation of Indian, Dutch, English and American settlers through their rock structures left behind. Learn about how 400 years of civilization changed the Catskills Forest and who or what is changing it today. On our 1 mile journey deep into the forever wilderness we provide an understanding through evidence of why the current flora and fauna exist from its humble beginnings about 15,000 years ago today. The beautiful five cascading pools of the historic Vernooy Kill Falls provide opportunities for children and pets to enjoy humans first touch of the natural cool waters. No business or civilisation exists upstream so this water is at its purist and provides opportunities to slide or jump into pools that nature has created over hundreds of million of years. In 1664, a French Hugenot named Cornelius Vernooy immigrated from Holland and founded a mill in 1703 to satisfy the demand of local farmers. His mill complex survives, unpreserved, as a testament to the early Americans that used it before and after the war for Independence. The contrast of the 20’ tall rock wall transports us back to the time of Rip Van Winkle. With campfire rings and swimming pools available, you are free to spend as much time at the falls as you like (3 day limit for campers) or you can maybe join Scott as he walks back to the Trails End parking lot.

After being cooped up all winter, your dog is begging to travel to the country for a fun activity outside! Bring them to Wayward Ranch, a nonprofit animal sanctuary and rescue located on 60 beautiful acres in the picturesque Rondout Valley. You and your dog(s) will be guided through a tour of our facility where they can sniff pigs, goats, and horses and you can learn about the stories of each of our residents here. After the tour when your dog is comfortable the fun really begins! Agility courses can be wonderful enrichment for dogs and it can help them get out excess energy, build confidence if they are anxious, and grow their bond with you! All ages, breeds, and experience levels welcome! Out of respect for our animals and for the safety of our visitors, dogs are required to be on leash throughout this experience (flexi-leads are not permitted). Is your dog in need of extra training? Let us know ahead of time that you would be interested in having a mini training consult with our resident dog trainer and we will do our best to accommodate that! Is your dog already an agility expert who can handle a longer visit on the course? Let us know ahead of time and we will to our best to accommodate you! If you do not have a dog of your own to bring, let us know and we will do our best to provide you with a dog from our rescue to play with on the course!

Did you know that spending time around animals reduces stress and increases feelings of happiness? You can double that when they are rescued goats! Come spend time outdoors and meet some of the most affectionate goats there are. Visitors will get an introduction to each goat and and learn about their breed as well as their rescue stories, behaviors and unique characteristics of the species. We are loaded with goat fun facts and corny goat puns to add a little laughter into our day! You'll also become part of the herd when we start a leisurely 1/2 mile hike through marked trails on our 15 acre property with the goats, who enjoy navigating the trails and foraging along the way. Watching the goats in a natural habitat and bonding with them is truly magical. We end with extra quality time with all of the goats, who love lots of attention, allowing for plenty of hugs, scratches, and photo ops. Everyone leaves with a sticker of their favorite goat. Guests will meet host near the entrance to the Catskills in Palenville, New York. After a brief intro and gear check, well head up into the mountains - with scenic vistas, waterfalls, and pristine summits - there's an adventure waiting - no matter your skill level. Learn about the flora, fauna and geography along the way as you immerse in the best of the Catskills with a licensed hiking guide & adventure photographer. All needed winter gear is included and provided. Hikes range in difficulty from easy to challenging and I do my best to tune to the overall skill level of the group. Whether you're a first time hiker or seasoned mountaineer - I'm excited to share my favorite hikes and hidden gems of the mountains with you. *GROUP DISCOUNTS FOR 2+ PEOPLE* Learn the basics of stained glass copper foil technique and go home with your own stained glass suncatcher you made yourself! The workshop includes instruction on how to design and structure your piece, create a pattern + template, cut glass, use a diamond grinder, apply and burnish copper foil, and assemble and solder the pieces together. Great for couples, groups and team-building! You may choose from existing templates or create your own design - I will help modify it based on skill level and timing. You will get to select from many glass colors to build your piece. Copper foil is a great intro to the art of stained glass. In taking this workshop you will also learn about the more advanced technique of traditional leaded glass, the differences between the two techniques, + the advantages and disadvantages to each. Proper safety precautions will be taught alongside each step and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided along w/ all materials. Masks are not required at this time, but are highly recommended for the soldering step to block the fumes. This is a 2nd-floor studio so you will be need to be able to climb a flight of stairs. If you are booking in a colder season, make sure you wear layers (though the barn is heated). There is no food allowed for safety reasons, but you may bring a snack if you eat it outside.

We also have farm tours that include a tasting of our artisanal goat cheese that we make right here and a glass of rose. Don’t hesitate to ask what kind of fun we can whip up together!

We will meet at Poets Walk - a trail that is inspired by artists and poets of the Hudson Valley and beyond. This trail is a scenic 2-mile loop with various lookouts and places to sit and meditate throughout the grounds. We will begin together at the head of the trail to review the guidance on breathing practices for your walk and a focus for your meditation. There are 5 parts to this meditation to bring awareness to the 5 elements in yourself and around you. We will walk with intention and focused on our breath - once we arrive at our designated meditation spot ( a gazebo overlooking the water and woods ) you will be guided through gentle physical movement to prepare for a seated meditation that will close our experience. Beginners are encouraged as well as seasoned meditators are encouraged - all participants are free to practice what they know and deepen their awareness along the way. As part of your meditation practice, you will receive a healing gemstone picked just for you and your intentions. You will be given instructions on usage and care for you to take with you on your meditation journeys. This walk is meant to be an open level introduction to meditation as a whole-body experience - ALL WELCOME

INDOOR CLASSES ONLY!!! Shakti Yoga of Woodstock ( studio name) is located in Woodstock, New York-- very close to Saugerties and Kingston. ` I own Shakti Yoga and have been teaching since 2000. I am originally from NYC !! I made the move to this area back in 1999. See below for what levels on which days are available !! We will have class indoors. at this point . Our studio is surrounded by windows- so you still get to experience the beauty of our countryside. When outside, we will practice yoga under the willow trees and shade sails. You will be surrounded by the beautiful and wild landscape of Woodstock! Other things to note... Please let me know if you have special needs I also want to make sure you are in appropriate class level. Private lessons are available at different times. Waterfall Short Easy Fun Hike with refreshments. Join us for an easy, socially distant hike. The trail is well- maintained, with bridges and benches alongside a stream. Waterfall and swimming hole less than 1/4 mile in. Total distance if you do the whole hike is 3 flat miles. Pets are allowed. Stop for a snack along the way, many guests linger at the swimming hole and falls! If your are new to the area, we are happy help advise you for other local activities. .
