Romantic and stylish apartment, It's the perfect base from which to explore Edinburgh from. I've already had some great people come and stay, so I welcome you to my home. Edinburgh castle is a short walk away from the apartment, and the National Gallery, St Giles Cathedral, National Museum of Scotland are all close by. My apartment is on the fourth floor of an 18th Century tenement with views on to the historic Royal Mile. With all mod cons and a unique location, this is the perfect apartment to have as a base while you explore Edinburgh. The apartment retains the unique character of the Old Town with oak panelled walls and parquet flooring, mixed with family portraits, antiques and works of art, but also all the modern comforts of a home. It is on the fourth floor and is reached by a spiral staircase (76 steps in all!) For our American cousins that's a walkup :-) There is no elevator. The apartment is South facing and full of light by day. The hall has a cupboard to hang clothes/store shoes etc. There is also an ironing board/iron and a hair dryer kept here as well. The bathroom has a bath and a shower, there is always hot water and plenty of towels for you to have. Then through the main door off the hall, is the open plan living space. Five full height original Georgian sash windows face you as you walk into the space. Floor to ceiling book cases and a large period fireplace with French empire over-mantle mirror. There is free wifi throughout the apartment, also a big collection of fiction/history/cookery/poetry/art/design books to while away the time with and I have a music/radio player with an eclectic choice of C.Ds. Plus cards and board games. A large kitchen space with character and all the modern cons - toaster, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, oven, kettle, induction hob etc. However I don't own a microwave. There is a washing machine and there is washing liquid capsules for it under the sink, just put one of these inside the washing machine drum and close the door and turn to what ever setting you want. I do not have a dryer (it's not that typical here in Scotland/Europe) what I do have is a clothes horses which you can hang your clothes on. Their kept folded up in the hall cupboard. I hate staying in apartments on holiday where there aren't even any basics to cook with like salt and olive oil, so the kitchen is stocked with all the usual larder fare to help yourself to if you're cooking in. Plus coffee and all sorts of teas. I also have an honesty bar if you want to finish off with a drink or two after a long day of walking around town. By the windows is the generous dining space with oak dinning table and six chairs. The bed is a unique 'bedbox chamber' made from architectural salvaged fitted Scottish 18th/19th century carved oak. A floor to ceiling hidden panelled door lets you into this cosy space with reading lights on the headboard and it is fitted out with a British king size mattress - width 150cm and length 200cm, white cotton sheets, pillows and duvet. Mary Queen of Scots would feel quite at home sleeping in it! The living room area of the apartment is tucked at the West side of the room and has two good size sofas, reading lamps and is perfect to socialize in and also have quiet time with a good book. Edinburgh is beautiful and historic. This apartment is in the oldest part of the city, close to the castle. Museums, restaurants, and good coffee shops are really close by, as are the train station and airport links.

  • Ég get ekki metið Calim og töfrandi íbúð hans nógu hátt. Hvar á að byrja ... Áður, meðan og í lok ferðar okkar var Calim alltaf auðvelt að ná til, hjálpsamur og fullur af góðum ábendingum um áhugaverða veitingastaði, bari og markið. Íbúðin er staðsett á Royal Mile, í göngufæri frá kastalanum og umkringd frábærum valkostum fyrir mat og skemmtun. Íbúðin sjálf er VÁ. Calim hefur stílhreint rýmið með fallegum húsgögnum og listum sem fagna sögu hússins og það eru fjöldinn allur af áhugaverðum bókum sem fjalla um list, ferðalög og sögu Edinborgar sem við nutum meðan við eyddum tíma þar. Það voru í raun nokkrar bækur sem ég hef síðan pantað fyrir mig eftir að hafa notið þeirra meðan við dvöldum okkar. Einnig er vert að minnast á þægilegt rúm og framúrskarandi sturtu, útsýnið yfir mílin frá fimm gluggum sem spanna stofu og vel útbúið eldhús. Calim hefur greinilega hugsað um litlu snertingarnar. Takk aftur, við vonumst til að vera komin aftur!

  • A sannarlega undursamleg íbúð og yndisleg gestgjafi. Íbúðin gæti ekki verið betra staðsett, allt sem þú vilt sjá er í stuttri göngufjarlægð. Staðurinn sjálfur er dásamlegur, það er næstum barátta að rífa þig í burtu frá fallegu rými Calim hefur skapað til að fara og kanna prýði Edinborgar. The auka snertir sem Calim setur inn, hafa ljósin dimma kveikt og Radio 3 leika þegar þú kemur að fersku brauði og morgunmat þægindum raunverulega skiptir máli. Ekki aðeins það en hann var ótrúlega gagnlegur með því að hitta okkur áður en þú skráir þig inn til að taka töskurnar okkar og láta okkur fara svolítið seinna en áætlað er. Þakka þér fyrir sannarlega yndislegan dvöl.

    Lovely, bright, quiet room on the top floor of a modern apartment block on the seafront in Granton Harbour 3 miles north of the centre of the city. Well connected by buses and walking routes, free parking, magnificent views. Continental breakfast included and free wifi. We also live in the apartment. Guests use the main bathroom and we use our own ensuite. Guests have access to the kitchen, dining and living areas. Sometimes if we have visitors they will also use the main bathroom.
    Lovely big room (Approx 17' x 11') with private balcony in top floor penthouse with superb views overlooking the Forth. The apartment is the only flat on the top floor of the building. It is modern build, completed in 2011, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open plan lounge kitchen diner. The apartment is well insulated, double glazed and cosy and warm even when the weather is terrible. Free Wifi. The room comes with reading lamp, LED television, fitted wardrobe, armchair, hair dryer and free wifi. Underfloor heating with individual temperature controls in each room. The bathroom is directly outside the room with shaver point and over the bath shower. Towels and breakfast supplied - the bathroom is not exclusive use as it is shared between two bedrooms so you would only have exclusive use if there is no guest in the other room. Let us know if you have any dietary requirements and we will try to cater accordingly. The lounge is very comfortable with large screen TV, dining table, open plan kitchen and wraparound balcony with further panoramic views of the Firth of Forth and North Sea. Outside dining is possible in fine conditions (see pic) The apartment is in a quiet part of Edinburgh, three miles from the city centre. There is ample free parking outside and buses run regularly into the city from a bus stop two minutes walk away. There are lots of walks in the area and beautiful beaches and parkland to explore just a few minutes away. We moved here from the city centre and love the peace and tranquility. There are supermarkets and shops about 10 minutes walk away or two minutes by car as well as a variety of take-away food outlets. Restaurants and pubs are slightly further afield with a massive selection available the nearer you get to the city centre. Other nearby attractions include the Royal Botanic Gardens, Royal Yacht Britannia, Cramond Island, Ocean Terminal, Old Town and New Town World Heritage Sites. Buses run from right outside the apartment. The 47 goes to the city centre in about 20 minutes and through the West End to the south of the city. The 24 runs on Sundays to the City Centre. Other buses run from a stop 5 minutes walk away at Granton Square and go all over the city. Bus fares are £1.60 for a single journey or £4 for a day pass on all Lothian buses. Exact fare only - no change given. Lothian buses website is a great resource and the Transport for Edinburgh app for iphone and android provides bus arrival and departure information from your local bus stop in real time, sells tickets and allows you to use your phone as your bus ticket. Edinburgh is fantastic for getting around on bikes. Sustrans has a great website and maps of all the dedicated bike routes. On the whole Edinburgh is a very safe city and there are no unsafe areas. That said it is sensible to take the usual precautions when out alone particularly at night or when withdrawing cash from ATMs. The apartment makes a great base for exploring the rest of Scotland. Oban and Fort William can be reached by car in approximately 3 hours and Inverness and Loch Ness in about 4 hours. Scottish money is interchangeable with Bank of England money - all notes are accepted everywhere in Scotland. It is very unusual for Scottish money not to be accepted in England although this can occasionally happen. This apartment is a fantastic place to stay in the City of Edinburgh and still feel the freedom of the outdoors and freshness of the sea air. We hope you will enjoy your visit. Dan and Alex.     The neighbourhood is on the coast about 3 miles from the City Centre. There isn't much else in the direct vicinity. A couple of shops two minutes walk away and more local shops and takeaways 10 minutes walk away. Lots of walks and cycleways in the area. Nearest pub is approx 20 mins walk. We have hundreds of rabbits and lots of other wildlife can be seen from the flat. Foxes, birds, hawks and sometimes if you are lucky seals and whales.

  • Ég skemmti mér best að vera hér. Íbúðin er dásamlega rúmgóð, ótrúlegt útsýni, snilldar innréttuð. Þeir hjálpuðu mér með millistykki og skipulögðu morgunmat sem hentaði ofnæminu mínu, sem ég er mjög þakklátur fyrir. Samband var alltaf fljótt og vinalegt. Ég mun örugglega koma aftur. :)

    Beautiful two bedroom, two bathroom mews house with private garage for parking. Located on a quaint, cobbled street tucked away in the heart of Stockbridge, Edinburgh. The house has recently been refurbished to a high standard. It is well located and is just a 2 minute walk from the fantastic cafes, restaurants and shops of leafy, bustling Stockbridge and a 15 minute walk from central Edinburgh. The house is a real "home away from home" and is light, warm, cosy and comfortable.
    The property is on two floors. Upstairs is a large, open plan kitchen dining sitting room with high ceilings and velux windows that let the light flood in. There is a large dining table plus bar stools on the counter in the kitchen. Downstairs there are 2 bedrooms, both with king sized beds. There is also a shower room and a bathroom with a power shower over the bath and underfloor heating. The property also has a private garage for parking. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, hob, oven, microwave and large fridge freezer. There is fast wifi throughout plus Sky TV and Apple TV. High quality bedding and bath towels are provided. We also provide a travel cot and high chair for guests with kids and there are some toys in the toy box.
    Dean Park Mews is situated in Stockbridge, just north of the city centre. It’s one of Edinburgh’s most popular and charming areas and was recently voted by the Sunday Times as the best place to live in Scotland. It has a really fun vibe with lots of great restaurants, cafes, bars and independent shops and has a long history of style and individual flair, highlighted also by a Times’ newspaper poll which listed it amongst Britain’s Top 30 ‘coolest’ places. It’s a beautiful spot and, as one of the greenest areas of Edinburgh, Stockbridge has a real village feel to it despite being only a 15 minute walk to the centre of Edinburgh. The Water of Leith flows through Stockbridge, and there are some very pretty walks along it, and the world class Royal Botanic Gardens are just a few minutes walk away. Inverleith Park is just across the road, which has brilliant views over the castle and a great children's playground. Stockbridge is also where the first ever international rugby match was played. The match took place between Scotland and England on the 27th March 1871. It's a beautiful spot to explore during a weekend break to Edinburgh.

    First floor flat in a quiet tenement building minutes from the hub of a magnificent city. Transport, food shops and more only 2 minutes walk away.
    Morningside was immortalised in the book The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and has long been considered the more genteel part of town. However it is very much a thriving community renowned for its numerous cafes, charity shops, boutiques and food shops. I live in a quiet street just off Morningside Road.

    Beautiful en-suite room in a 200 year old flat with all modern comforts. I'm an artist so you will see some of my paintings on the walls amongst others. The flat is grand, quirky and relaxing.
    High ceilings with chandeliers makes this flat extra special. There are working shutters, original fireplaces and floorboards. Historical flat in the World Heritage New Town. The flat's on the second floor with no lift so two flights of stairs to climb. I am there whenever you would like to give guidance and recommend all the fantastic places nearby. Being a World Heritage site, as you can imagine, the area is extremely beautiful and a destination in it's self. At the end of the road is Broughton Street with lots of independent shops, cafés, bars and restaurants. At the top of Broughton Street, about 5 minutes walk away is the tram terminus straight to the airport. Waverley Station is a 15 minute walk away.
    Being a World Heritage site, as you can imagine, the area is extremely beautiful and a destination in it's self. At the end of the road is Broughton Street with lots of independent shops, cafés, bars and restaurants.

  • Þetta er svo fallegur staður. Herbergið er stærra en nokkurt svefnherbergi sem ég hef séð með auka háu lofti. Rúmið var þægilegt og baðherbergið var flekklaust. Tessa var mjög velkomin og átti margar túristabækur um Edinborg í herberginu. Staðsetningin var um 20 mínútna göngufjarlægð frá kastalanum og 10 mín ganga að lestarstöðinni. A einhver fjöldi af krám og veitingastöðum rétt handan við hornið.

  • Ég myndi mjög mæla með fallegu heimili Tessa. Ég átti yndislega nætur dvöl og þegar ég snýr aftur til Edinborgar, þá væri þetta fyrsti kosturinn minn. Staðsetningin er frábær með snilldar veitingastöðum og börum rétt handan við hornið og það er þægileg stutt göngutúr inn í Nýja bæ. Frábær á allan hátt.

Staðurinn er frábær, að vera bara nógu langt í burtu frá aðalstjórnuninni á Princes St. o.fl. til að vera gott og rólegt, en í göngufæri allt sem þú vilt sjá þegar þú ert í Edinborg. Raunveruleg staðsetning Stockbrigde er yndisleg, með fullt af frábærum sjálfstæðum verslunum og kaffihúsum, ásamt staðbundnum matvöruverslunum og víngerð fyrir alla þarfir þínar.

    The flat is a 1st floor, 1 bedroom apartment, brilliantly located at the top end of Stockbridge, within a 10 mins walk of George Street and Edinburgh's city centre. Stockbridge enjoys the best of Edinburgh's bars and restaurants, it has a friendly village vibe despite being a stones throw from Edinburgh's main central attractions. The stunning Botanical Gardens and Inverleith Park are all very close by. Perfect for a romantic stroll, a jog or a trip with kids to the park. The flat is set back from one of Stockbridge's highlights- St Stephens Street- a speciality shopping street, with quirky one off shops, antique shops, beauty salons and some treasures of small eateries, tucked in the basements. Two of Edinburgh's most infamous traditional bars are on the street- the Bailey and the Antiquary- where you can enjoy a proper Auld Scottish pub (with a selections of fine ales and whiskey and regular folk music nights). But whilst there is an active community on your doorstep, the flat is set back on St. Stephens Place so you can enjoy a quieter time and a good nights sleep.     Edinburgh is exploding with life during the famous Festival Fringe and the New Year Hogmanay party. However there is so much more to Edinburgh, making it an ideal all year round holiday destination. The apartment is in the heart of Stockbridge, just to the North of the City's central New Town - and there is plenty to see and do right on your doorstep. Stockbridge has its own market every Sunday, with premium local produce and Scottish crafts. It also has its own annual Stockbridge Festival for 9 days at the end of June and the famous charity duck race where 1000 ducks are launched into the Water of Leith, which winds it's way through the area. It is an area that has traditionally attracted creative professionals. It houses the coveted ' Stockbridge Colonies', 11 parallel streets built to provide housing for the artisan class working on Edinburgh's flamboyant New Town Mansions.     Stunning location next to shops and bus stop. Can simply relax and enjoy the unique location with a beautiful view of forth road bridges or use as a base to head into Edinburgh or over to Fife. I live with a small toddler and 3 bunnies who are highly amusing not to mention the 9 chickens and a rooster that reside in the garden. We are a quirky bunch but we have a warm welcome and a positive outlook. We want to ensure you have a memorable stay. Come as a stranger, stay as a guest and leave as a friend.
    You have the living room that is about the only peaceful place in the flat to hide away. It has Netflix and Amazon plus WiFi. Of course if you love to spend time with bunnies and a baby then you are welcome to venture into our living space. However, if you want to feel like the only folk in the place then your access to the bathroom and kitchen is close to your room and we will respect your privacy. The garden is a working progress but still a lovely place to sit out and take in the view of the forth road bridge and be amused by the ex battery hens who are curious and keen to get to know you. I have a resident hedgehog who is the latest to join the clan not to mention all the wild birds who are not shy to eat from the feeding stations in close proximity of the viewing platform.

    Nestled just behind the historic High street of the seaside town of Queensferry in Edinburgh. A double upper villa with stunning views out over the Firth of Forth and the famous historic Forth Rail Bridge. Quick easy access to centre of Edinburgh
    This spacious double upper historic villa is set over two floors. The living room is on the top floor to make the most of the stunning views. There are three large double bedrooms, two with double beds and one with a pull out double bed. There is a small private terrace and a beautiful courtyard garden that is shared with the two small flats below one of which I also own. My neighbour doesn't have direct access to the garden so hardly ever uses it and it is myself that looks after it and who mainly uses it. I stay at the apartment occasionally when it is not rented out and I do have a small dog. As you can see from the reviews the apartment is to a high standard and very clean, but please be aware if you suffer from any pet allergies.
    What I love about Queensferry is that it has the feel of a seaside village and a lovely community feel about it, but within only 1/2 hour you can be in the centre of one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Edinburgh city centre. It is also ideally situated for excellent/easy access to the North of Scotland and the Highlands. Queensferry has wonderful beaches within walking distance, a marina with access to water sports, boat trips, countryside walks, historical ghost walks and a museum - fantastic restaurants, cafe's, bars and shops.There is a supermarket within a few minutes walking distance from the house.

    A cosy bright apartment, centrally located in the heart of the historic old town below Edinburgh Castle. All the main tourist and festival attractions are within easy walking distance: the Castle, the Royal Mile, National Museum, National Gallery, Princes Street. Free wi-fi is available. The bedroom and kitchen have views to the castle esplanade and as the apartment is at the back of the building it is very quiet. The apartment is on street level through a secure gate with just a few steps up onto the balcony landing from where you gain entry. Perfect for two but can accommodate four with a comfortable double sofa bed. The living area is fresh and modern with a sofa bed, armchair, dining table and seating for four. There is a flat screen TV. The bedroom has a comfortable kingsize bed, a good size wardrobe and a stool for luggage. The bathroom has a powerful shower, toilet, wash hand basin and a heated towel rail. Linen and towels are provided with complimentary shampoo. . The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need should you choose to eat in. Coffee, tea, sugar and milk are provided as well as some basic supplies such as cooking oil. A travel cot can be provided on request. There is a small supermarket up the street and on Saturdays there is a farmers market on Castle Terrace where you can purchase local produce. Directly opposite the apartment there is a friendly cafe that is perfect for breakfast or lunch. Check in is from 3pm but where work commitments and other bookings allow earlier times may be possible.
    The Grassmarket is in the historic Old Town which has been transformed into a pedestrianised area with numerous restaurants, cafes, pubs and specialist shops. Many of the restaurants have outdoor eating facilities which combines with the street entertainment to create a continental atmosphere. Experience the local history including that of the famous body snatchers Burke and Hare or take in the Castle, Royal Mile or Princes Street gardens.   • Staður Gavin var mjög vel staðsettur. Hann lagði fram nákvæmar leiðbeiningar um hvernig komast ætti á staðinn. Við vorum að ferðast með barn og hann útvegaði virkilega góða ferðabotn og lak fyrir það. Staðurinn er gamall og notalegur. Eitt mál sem við höfðum var svefnherbergið og stofuhurðin myndi ekki lokast. En annars virkaði allt annað fullkomlega fyrir 2 nætur dvöl okkar. Einnig átti hann hraðasta WiFi sem við höfum fundið á öllum Airbnb!

    It is a very peaceful property with a brilliant bus & train links to Edinburgh city centre. Ideal for city breaks, walkers ( Fife Coastal Path) and business people Close to the airport ( the taxi costs about £13 ), the City Bypass and Edinburgh Park. Very easy access to the city centre, it takes 10 minutes by train from South Gyle Station which is just round the corner ( £2.90 return ). If you wish I can provide a home cooked meal (upon request) for £12 / € 15 .

  • Staður Beata er í góðu sambandi við miðborgina. Jafnvel þó að þú náir því við staðbundin lest, þá er ferðin auðveld og hratt og kostnaðurinn er í lágmarki. Beata var mjög sveigjanlegur við innritunina og að skoða og hafa góða staðbundna ráð fyrir ferðamenn að sjá og gera yfir dvölina. Dvölin mín var meðal mest áreynslulaus ég hef haft og myndi örugglega mæla með því að hver sem er að vera hjá Beata er!

    Picturesque seaside cottage, steps from the water, 5 minutes from the train station. Ideal base for exploring Edinburgh (20 minutes away by train) or visiting the beautiful Kingdom of Fife (Aberdour, Anstruther, St Andrews). The property has a private back garden in the shadow of the Forth Rail Bridge (now a UNESCO world heritage monument), and is situated down a quaint cobbled lane that is closed to traffic. A little piece of heaven under the three bridges.
    The property is traditional on the exterior (dating from the late 18th century), but inside is modern. Open plan downstairs, two separate bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. Main bedroom is large and features a chaise longue and a desk area. Both bedrooms have built-in wardrobes. Bathroom has bath, shower, sink and heated towel rail.
    Steps away from a great cafe/deli for morning coffees and tasty lunches, and just round the corner from a Michelin-noted restaurant (https://www.theweerestaurant.co.uk/) serving first class Scottish fare. Just across the Forth Bridge is Port Edgar, Edinburgh's harbour for sailing, windsurfing and kayaking. Deep Sea World is 5 minutes round the corner.

We live close to the center of Dunfermline. Our home is very close to the historical town city center, with the Abbey, Carnegie Museum, the Glen Park, Arts & Culture. We are located minutes from the M90 motorway, and close to bus and rail links, ideally connecting you with Edinburgh city center and beyond.
    A warm and friendly welcome awaits all of our guests, and we are on hand to help you plan your stay. Within our home, you will find a microwave, a toaster, kettle, also all your mugs, plates, bowls, glasses, a tea-pot, and a coffee maker. You will also find there is complimentary Tea, coffee, sugar, various cereals provided, fresh milk, orange juice, fresh fruit, bread and spread in the fridge. We offer free Wifi, which is a high-speed all-fiber connection, providing stable, high-speed upload and download. The dining room is available to use to work or relax, with views out to the private garden. The guest room contains a comfortable, orthopedic double bed, ensuring a comfortable nights sleep. Please note, during Christmas and New Year, public transport is severely limited, and may not be available. Please check prior to booking. We are a short walk from a cinema, restaurants, mega bowl complex, Florida style golf, etc. We are also 45 minutes by car, from St. Andrews and Gleneagles Golf courses. As well as many other stunning courses found in Fife.
