VERY BASIC VERY REMOTE BEAUTIFUL BUT NOT LUXURIOUS bothy in an idyllic situation - exposed stonework and wood. Bring own bedding and cooking stove. Basic pots crockery cutlery etc provided. Shared outdoor toilet, indoor bath heated by solid fuel stove. Coal can be bought for £12 a bucket available if requested well in in advance from Rhoda's shop on Gometra's official website. Suits kayakers, experienced hillwalkers and island baggers. Please see reviews for more feedback.
This is a VERY BASIC NO LUXE bothy - do not expect modernised comfort. Gometra is off-grid - that means no mains electricity. You will need to bring bedding, food, cooking appliances and fuel (coal can be bought £12 a bucket in advance - contact details on Gometra's official website). We do not have a cleaner and ask people to leave as they expect to find it. This is reflected in the low price.
Gometra is the most beautiful island in the world but very remote.

The Cabin is a small self catering 1 bedroom property attached to one side of Achnadrish House in the wilds of North Mull, yet only 15 minutes from the bustling harbour town of Tobermory. It was originally built in the 50s to house the owners collection of mechanical toys which the children from Dervaig were invited over to play with and is full of charm. Open plan sitting room/bedroom, bathroom with over bath shower, full central heating fuelled by our wood chip boiler and a fully equipped fitted kitchen. The interior is warm, cosy and comfortable, ideal for a couple or single person. Sorry no dogs unless they sleep in the car. We do our utmost to ensure your privacy whilst here at Achnadrish, the Cabin has it's own private entrance and parking area. Our ponies stables are close to the Cabin and although screened off you may hear us occasionally talking to our ponies! There is also a stunning view down the glen towards Ben Tallagh now that the forest has been felled and the sunrises from the Cabin are stunningly beautiful. We can put in a camp bed if required. Please note, as we are in a rural location we recommend you come by car. (Although we are on a bus route and the bus passes us 4 times a day so it is possible to get here by public transport.)
The Cabin is perfect for a single person or a couple and is ideally located in Central North Mull, 2 miles from the pretty village of Dervaig and 5 miles from the iconic town of Tobermory. With everything you will need including 24 hour heating and hot water, it is warm and comfortable, the perfect place to base yourself to explore the beautiful island of Mull. Achnadrish is in a very rural area and the Cabin is an ideal getaway from it all location, with the benefit of having the owners next door should you need help. If we are away then we always have a back up person on hand to help. The wild life in this area is stunning with eagles and other birds of prey, red deer, owls, lizards and slow worms regularly sighted. Excellent walking opportunities exist in this area, with a Forestry Commision hide looking out to Loch Tor just 10 minutes walk away. We keep animals here at Achnadrish, horses, pigs, dogs and a very inquisitive cat and you or your children are more than welcome to walk around the area to see the animals.
North Mull is a beautiful area with a wealth of things to do and see. Along the Northern Coast line are 4 stunning white sandy beaches with crystal clear turquoise waters all of which are easily accessible. There are hundreds of miles of Forestry tracks and walks to explore in the area and there is a wonderful track leading out into the wilds of the Loch Frisa glen leading from the entrance to the Cabin. Tobermory has a number of different wild life tour providers both land and sea based which we highly recommend to make the most of the rich wildlife we have on the island. Mull also has a rich food heritage and many producers and fantastic restaurants if you don't feel like cooking. There is a pub 2 miles away in Dervaig which provides wonderful meals.

Bearnus Bothy has been lovingly renovated using our principle of ecological design to repair, repurpose and use what has been washed-up by the sea. It is one of the last old residences outside of the main dwellings around the Manse on Ulva. As such there are no neighbours until you reach the tiny community on Gometra, another three miles down the track. Seasonal magic: Bluebells, Primroses, nesting eagles, long summer days, heather-carpeted hills, rutting red deer, curious seals on the rocks.
Bearnus Bothy sits alone in a bay on the coast of the Isle of Ulva. It is reached by walking 5 miles along the rough track from Ulva Ferry, and it is another mile to reach the Isle of Gometra. The cottage is off-grid and offers the chance for living simply among a rich diversity of wildlife: White-tailed Eagles, Otters, Seals, and Red Deer are but a few examples of local residents. Please be aware that Bearnus Bothy is in a remote location, and the accommodation reflects the challenging nature of living on the island. Therefore, the provisions are basic and require a level of skill and experience of self-sufficiency.
The bothy is located next to the lively Bearnus Burn, running down from the summit of Ulva, with expansive views of Loch Tuath and beyond to the Treshnish Wilderness. The bothy is nestled above Bearnus Bay, only a few minutes’ walk down the wooded hillside. Gometra Gallery and honesty shop is a two mile walk along the track and supplies a range of food and local craft. It is perhaps the remotest shop and gallery you can find in the U.K.

*PLEASE SEE FERRY TIMES BEFORE BOOKING* *VERY basic but beautiful place* Situated on the picturesque Isle of Ulva, Cragaig Bothy is now available for visitors to the island. The bothy has basic accommodation, with no electricity or services. Although the water in the bothy is not suitable for drinking, there is a woodburning stove that can be used to heat water. Cragaig is located on Ulva's south side, and can be reached after a two hour walk from the Ulva Ferry, or by sea via kayak or boat.
To access the island of Ulva, you are required to take a short passenger ferry from Mull. The ferry operates Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm April to October, and also Sundays in June, July and August. *PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO FERRY SATURDAYS* The cost of this ferry is £6 return for adults, and £3 return for children. During the winter months, the ferry operates only at school crossing times (9am and 3:30pm) The bothy has a gas cooker certified by a qualified engineer. You will also be required to take your own sleeping bags/ bedding. There is a good selection of cutlery and dinner plates, and firewood is included in the price. Visitors are asked to respect bothy tradition and leave Cragaig as they find it - including leaving the fire set for the next visitors. All items, including rubbish must be taken on departure.
The island of Ulva is renowned for its stunning scenery and wildlife, and is owned and operated by the community of Ulva and North West Mull. Sea eagles, golden eagles, hen harriers, otters, seals and much, much more all call Ulva home.

Our cosy larch grass roofed cabin on the Ross of Mull is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. With views across Staffa & the Treshnish Isles, you can watch the sun rise over Ben More and set over Lunga from the comfort of the sofa. For the ultimate tech detox, we’ve ditched the mod cons like TV, wifi and phone signal and replaced them with good old fashioned boardgames, a great stack of books and selection of old and new vinyl for the record player.
Outside you can dine al fresco in all weathers on the veranda, while watching sea eagles, seals, dolphins and basking sharks in the bay. From the cabin, you are a short distance from lots of beautiful sandy beaches, walks and boat trips, including Staffa, Iona, Lunga and private charters with Alternative Boat Hire.

Takk aftur Hannah :)

  • Cosiest lítill skála í mesta dásamlegu stað. Sumir sérstakar snertingar sem við þökkum vel - smá hindrun af skemmtunum, upphitunargólfum í fallegu baðherbergi, fullt af eldiviði. Við vorum á Mull í New Year svo það var mjög rólegt en við elskaði það og notið þess að eyða langa kvöldin í farþegarýminu, með eldinum og jigsaw, eins mikið og dagarnir voru að kanna. Get ekki beðið eftir að heimsækja aftur og mun alveg vera hér.

The Snug is a modern day take on the traditional barn conversion. With stunning views and a large open deck space The Snug combines a super cosy indoor space with great outdoor living. The open plan living room and kitchen has large glass sliders which open onto a generous covered deck area. There is seating and BBQ on the deck as well as stunning views over to The Burg. The deck also leads to the king size bedroom with ensuite.
The snug is super well insulated but if you need more heat then just fire up the Morso Owl stove. There are plenty of dry logs included in your rental. The snug is definitely a place to switch off and relax. There are great cooking facilities - we can direct you to loads of places to get fantastic local food including home grown veg, freshly baked bread, local seafood and local organic meat. We sell croft procured lamb and pork right on site. If you do want to stay connected then there is internet which we ask you to use on a fair use policy. Definitely plenty for a movie or two but we ask you not to let your devices go mad with updates. There is also free-view satellite TV. And the snug has a great sound system which you can hook into via bluetooth. A NOTE RE COVID 19 I want to assure people who are already booked and those thinking of booking that I will be taking extra precautions due to COVID 19. These range from maintaining distance from guests inc. not shaking hands to undertaking deep cleans between guest stays.
The Ross of Mull is absolutely stunning. This particular location is off the beaten track and enjoys spectacular views of both mountains and sea. You can walk to the village of Bunessan in about twenty minutes. There's a small Spar shop and a pub for drinks or simple pub grub. Fionnphort is about 15 minutes drive away. From there you can get the ferry to Iona or go on a boat trip to Staffa to see Fingal's Cave and the puffins. For the more adventurous have a look at Alternative Boat Hire - sail aboard the beautiful Birthe Marie. There are lots of wildlife tours available - a chance to see dolphins, whales, basking sharks, puffins, adders and eagles, as well as numerous other birds. Stunning beaches abound! Ardalanish and Uisken are two of the better know ones but there are lots of other ones which The Snug folder will tell you all about. And there is also fantastic walking in the area. Again, The Snug folder will tell you all about walks you can do right from the van or within a short drive. For eating out there are pubs in both Bunessan and Fionnphort. Or there is The Creel seafood bar at the top of the jetty - some of the best fish and chips you'll get. If you want something a bit posher then have a look at Ninth Wave Restaurant which is about ten minutes drive from the croft. Book ahead if you want to try it out. Getting around It is possible to get to the croft via public transport so long as you are willing to walk / cycle from Bunessan. (About a mile.) Bike hire is available at Iona Craft Shop.

Single room with private bathroom in traditional-style cottage in fabulous location by the coast with views over Loch Tuath to the Isle of Ulva and the Treshnish Islands. An extra mattress on the floor can be provided. Cooked breakfast is served in the farmhouse style kitchen with Aga, and features local, seasonal produce: home-baked bread, eggs from my hens and Isle of Mull dry-cured bacon. Particular dietary requirements should be agreed in advance. On account of rural location with no scheduled bus service, Lip na Cloiche is not recommended for those without their own transport.

This is a touring caravan like no other! During the summer of 2019 the van was completely stripped and re-built by Neil Harvey of Wild Campers Scotland. It sits in a croft field with stunning views of the ocean, of the magnificent Burg and of Ben More. The space is open plan with a king size bed and a wood burning stove. Designed to be comfortable for two, the space can accommodate four if necessary. It's a space made with old-school relaxation in mind — there's no internet and no TV.
The caravan is nestled in the corner of a croft field. You can park your car in the main yard from where you'll walk about three minutes to get to the caravan. Or, if you are coming by public transport either walk from Bunessan (about a mile) or let us know and we will come and get you. Children are welcome but please remember that the croft caravan has been designed to be comfortable for two. The space is open plan — there is a king size bed and a bed settee. If you plan to bring small children then you should be aware that the deck is not railed — there is a drop of around 3 feet. You'll need to be comfortable with sheep — you share the field with 20 Hebrideans. We sell croft procured lamb, pork and eggs right on site. The van is off-grid. Power comes from roof-mounted solar panels — there's a small fridge, plenty of lights and USB sockets from which you can charge things like phones and iPads. If you want to charge larger items (240v) you can do so at the workshop which is near where you park. There's a Salamader Hobbit stove to keep you cosy at night. You have your own private shower / toilet right next to the caravan. This is accessed via the deck. There's a small portable speaker, which you can connect to your phone or iPod. Remember — there is no internet or TV! If you have a BT or EE phone you will get a couple of bars of 4G. If you have O2 you'll get phone reception but no internet. For cooking there is a twin gas hob as well as an outside BBQ. There is no oven, grill or microwave. A NOTE RE COVID 19 I want to assure people who are already booked and those thinking of booking that I will be taking extra precautions due to COVID 19. These range from maintaining distance from guests inc. not shaking hands to undertaking deep cleans between guest stays.

Cala Fearnadh is a brand new, unique, off-grid cottage in a quiet village, with stunning views of Staffa and the Treshnish Isles, and beyond. There is nothing quite like it anywhere on the island! Electric power is 12 volt, generated by a combination of solar and wind energy. Water comes from the tranquil Loch Assapol, which supplies much of the area.
There are 2 bedrooms: one with a king bed; the other a double, which can convert to 2 singles. There are 2 bathrooms, each with shower and toilet - one is en-suite with the king bedroom. There is a small, well-equipped kitchen, and a living area with a cosy wood stove. The wood stove heats the whole building, and in winter it is essential to keep it maintained. Please make sure someone in your party is competent and confident with wood stoves!

Staying in a Yurt is pure relaxation! Mull Yurts is on a working croft on the stunning Isle of Mull. Amazing views, lovely walks, incredible sandy beaches to find and explore. Boat trips head off daily to the Puffin isles of Staffa and Lunga. One of Scotland's top tourist attractions - the Isle of Iona and its Abbey is a few miles away. The Yurt is cosy and wood burner warm. Lovely for a couples getaway or a family space surrounded by fields to play in and wild places to explore.
The yurt comfortably accommodates 4 guests with a double bed and two single chair beds. There is also space on the sofa for another wee one. There's a wardrobe to store clothes and belongings. The yurts are lit by candles and solar lanterns. We provide a torch or two to make sure you can find your way to your composting loo at night that is just next to your yurt. A two ring gas hob is provided for cooking on, a solar powered fridge is available to keep your food fresh, a hot gas shower in a wooden shed just next to your yurt and a cosy woodburner to keep you warm during the Scottish summer. It is still glamping of course so do remember to bring your wellies and warm clothes. We'll provide a bag of wood on arrival and more wood is available on site for £5 per bag.

This Tobermory self catering holiday cottage is located centrally in the main town on the beautiful Isle of Mull, one of the largest islands of the Scottish Inner Hebrides. The house is situated behind the famous Mishnish buildings on colourful Main Street, set off from the street which leads to the upper part of the town, on the north side of Tobermory Bay. Back Brae Lodge sits by the rock face which surrounds the natural harbour of Tobermory on all sides. There is an outside decked area with table and chairs for your use. Back Brae Lodge is an open-plan residence furnished to a high standard. The spacious L-shaped upper floor combines the living area, dining area, kitchen and extra sleeping space. We've had many guests in the past who were escaping hectic urban life for a while, but not necessarily for a holiday. Whether writing, researching or working professionally in some other way, Back Brae Lodge makes an excellent office-away-from-home for days or weeks of undistracted concentration, with inclusive landline and fast Internet connectivity. There is Wi-Fi Internet access for your laptop, tablet or mobile phone. Bring your own Ethernet cable to plug into the wireless router if you prefer. There is no limit on usage. Tobermory benefits from a superfast fibre broadband connection to the mainland so the current download speed in Back Brae Lodge is around 37Mbps and upload speed is 9Mbps. There is a 40" HD television with Freesat HD satellite live broadcast channels. We also provide Roku On Demand TV with streaming on-demand entertainment services. Free accounts include Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and BBC iPlayer. NOWTV, Sky Store channels and Google Play Movies are also available for an additional charge, or for you to sign in to your own account. Artwork in the house is by Shelagh Boyle, Ronnie Leckie, Bryan Evans, Angus Stewart, Claire Heminsley, Alex Bamford and Norman Wilkinson, with historical maps from the National Library of Scotland.
The house is known locally as “the old chocolate shop”, since it was the original home of Tobermory Chocolate. The building was originally a mason's workshop before it was extended into shop premises for Tobermory Chocolate then Music Scotland. It was converted and renovated as residential self-catering. In the heart of Tobermory, Back Brae Lodge offers easy access to the local Co-Op, arts and craft shops, a bank, museum, post office, four public bars, a range of restaurants, an arts centre... Experience everything the town has to offer, on your doorstep. You can get your groceries and most other essentials in the Co-Op supermarket, 2 minutes' walk away on Main Street. Another useful nearby shop is the legendary Brown's hardware store, well known as an "Aladdin's cave"!

The Wing of Achnadrish house, on the Western side of the house, originally housed the servants who looked after the guests in the main house, and although modernised, it retains a historical charm. The 3 bedrooms originally formed the hayloft and have a cottagey feel, whereas the downstairs is a little grander, with high ceilings and larger rooms, with a more shooting lodge feel to it and it now benefits from full central heating fuelled by our wood chip boiler, so you can be warm, and environmentally friendly! The garden is yours to enjoy and tables, chairs, a fire bowl and a BBQ are provided. Dogs welcome but must be kept on a lead when out of the Wing's enclosed garden as we have free range hens. We live in the central part of the house and there is another small self catering property on the Eastern side of the house. The Wing has a private parking area and private entrance. Please note the WIFI is limited to the sitting room and kitchen. We regret that the Wing is not suitable for those with limited mobility as the stairs are steep although there is a sturdy handrail. We should add that there is one toilet in the Wing which is upstairs, separate from the bathroom. There is a free standing shower in the bathroom as well as a lovely big old cast iron bath for a good soak. The hot water and heating are on 24 hours for your comfort. The Wing is suitable for families with children.
The Wing is in an ideal location for exploring the wonderful beaches and attractions of North Mull being only 15 minutes from Tobermory and 20 minutes from the stunning Calgary Bay. Achnadrish is in a very rural area and the Wing is an ideal getaway from it all location, with the benefit of having the owners next door should you need help. If we are away then we always have a back up person on hand to help. The Wing is steeped in history having evolved from being a hay loft to housing the servants for the shooting parties from the Calgary Estate to being a family home, to a self catering property. The wild life in this area is stunning with eagles and other birds of prey, red deer, owls, lizards and slow worms regularly sighted. Excellent walking opportunities exist in this area, with a Forestry Commision hide looking out to Loch Tor just 10 minutes walk away. We keep animals here at Achnadrish, horses, dogs and a very inquisitive cat and you or your children are more than welcome to walk around the area to see the animals.
North Mull is an excellent base for exploring the Isle of Mull, being close to Tobermory in the East and the 4 stunning beaches we have to the West of Achnadrish. There are lots of things to see and do with wildlife spotting, walking and exploring the many coastlines, mountains, hills, and endless forestry tracks being top of the list. There are plenty land and sea based wild life trips and a fantastic Aquarium, shops, playparks and Mull Museum, and restaurants in Tobermory for a rainy day.

  • Virkilega fallegt sumarhús. Staðsetningin var fullkomin, sumarbústaðurinn hafði allt sem við þurftum, Richard og kona hans voru hjálpsamir með staðbundnum ráðleggingum.

    Claire2019-04-02T00:00:00Z

    Andrea2019-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Það var mjög fallegt og afslappandi. Eldhúsið var einnig auðvelt í notkun. Ég vil vera aftur.

Nestled at the edge of a wee, native hazel woodland, our cosy hut offers a more comfortable camping experience, while still allowing you to feel that you are out in the wild. Watch the sun go down behind distant hills, relish the peace and solitude. A perfect base for exploring Mull and Iona. Insulated, wood-panelled interior. Wood-burning stove. Double platform bed. Linen and towels. Separate kitchen and shower hut. Composting tree bog. Self-catering. Breakfast is not included.
The perfect place to completely switch off from the madness of modern life. Reconnect with nature; read a book; watch the sky; go for long walks; sit by the sea; enjoy delicious, fresh, local produce; listen to the silence; relish the simplicity; be still.
A short drive to many sandy beaches, you can also walk down to the coast from the croft where you might see otters, seals, a sea eagle and numerous other birds and animals. In the nearby village of Bunessan is a pub, a shop and a café. The ferry to Iona is only a few miles away in Fionnphort. You can also get a boat to Staffa.

Am Fuaran Isle of Iona Am Fuaran is situated in Iona Village, beside the Argyll Hotel. Long ago Islanders had Summer houses where people stayed during the holiday season to allow guests to stay in their main residence. Am Fuaran was such a building which has had various tenants over the last few decades. It makes an ideal Summer Bothy. It is a tin building with a concrete floor and although not luxurious it is cosy. It is the perfect private space for a single person or couple.
Am Fuaran has an open plan living/kitchen area. There is one bedroom, a utility room with washing facilities and a shower room. It is ideal as a base for a single person or a couple giving easy access to all amenities on Iona and close to the ferry. There is a small garden area and the house is sheltered and private. Access is through the back garden at Tigh-na-Traigh and there are steps leading up to the front door. It has no disabled access and is not suitable for pets. No smoking allowed.
The Island of Iona is famous for its Abbey and Staffa is a short boat ride away. Daily trips run from just below the house to go and see Fingal's Cave. The Island of Iona has an abundance of sandy white beaches to visit as well as many places to explore like the Hermit's Cell, Dun I, Port Ban, St Columba's Bay and The Well of Eternal Youth. As well as these attractions there are good eating places and also interesting craft and gift shops.
